Re: LDE to DXF?

I have been away from the board and eCabs a long time and just popped in to see what was new and this post caught my eye immediately. I have been using a competitive package for the last year or so for two major reasons: 1) I absolutely positively must have DXF out of line drawings for exactly the r...

Transtint dye stain on bare wood sealed with 1# extra pale solvent shellac. General Finishes WB Glaze Effects, vandyke brown with black to accent the distressing and in the corners and such, (the camera flash added more contrast than actual, it looks alot more subtle in person with natural light) an...

The pegs are not functional. The doors just have std 7/16 tenons. This was a budget project which is why it is all poplar and birch and doesn't have all of the curves of the set I was matching. The pegs were a pain but I could not figure out an easier way to do it. I started with a 1/2in square stoc...

Amoire

This is the last job I did in eCabs and the finished (and unfinished) piece. Had to match an existing bedroom set so I had to do the carvings myself. Amazing what you can do with poplar and birch ply, huh?

I don't know if this is still true, but in the past if you bought a workstation class machine from any of the big players, it would typically come with just the bare bones O/S, no add ons, and the \"restore\" CD was really nothing more than an automated install with drivers and such, and a...

Okay, I'll step in on Dan's request to be flamed :) I would qualify the statement to \"stay away from HP/Compaq\" by saying to stay away from HP Compaq or anything else \"preconfigured in an electronics or other superstore\". HP/Compaq makes just as good or better workstations th...

Excellent! That makes a big difference and works perfectly for me as we are doing the dovetails on a dovetail machine so all I really need is the material length to be correct, I don't need the dovetail data. So, I changed to blind dado and then to full dado and full dado made them a little bit smal...

Anybody have any memory saving tricks for dwr boxes (besides leaving them off)? I have found that adding dwr boxes, which I need, increases the size in huge increments for each box, from 300k for a cab with no dwr boxes to 2.5 MB for cabinet with 4 dwr boxes. Using a Hafele stainless pull I am only ...

Maybe I am not understanding correctly. Here is what I see. I take a seed cabinet that is 35 1/2\" tall (30 1/2\" cabinet and 5\" toe kick)and 18\" wide with 1 dwr 5 1/4\" and 1 door 24 1/2\". I place this in a room and change the width to 15\" or 24 3/4\". At...

This problem should not affect door and drawer openings. All that is happening is the Toe Kick is not being included in the calc when you RESIZE the cabinet so you have to add the Toe Kick size to the cabinet height when you resize the cabinet. So, if you have a 30 1/2\" tall cabinet with a 5\&...

Ah ha! I think I understand now. What I thought was just my system showing those 4 digit fractions because I changed back and forth between metric and imperial is actually the way it is now. Correct? No big deal, I just thought I screwed something up in Standard Cabinets and was worried that it migh...

Thanks guys. Changing all of those Tenon settings one at a time and checking each result starts to become a blur after a while. It is easy to lose track and I was hoping I was just missing something. I will report it if nobody from Thermwood pops in here before I get back from the shop.

Okay, I have taken the Standard Frameless Corner Base and made only the required dado mods. It is in the previous post but I will reiterate: All dados should be Full Dado except at the front edges that are edgebanded so a combination of Full and Blind Dado is used with the Tenon settings to get the ...

We have determined that trying to incorporate both metric and imperial in the same cabinets is not worth the problems right now and are going to stick to imperial for the time being. I still need to find the stored value and get it changed for the Standard Cabinets. Someone from Thermwood is probabl...

Thanks guys, I appreciate the suggestions but what I really want to know is how to fix this from the core. I am helping an established cabinet shop get going on eCabinets and I really don't want to start introducing work arounds from the get go. As we all know, there are inevitably going to be some,...
