Buy List not picking up all items

Using version 5.2. Can add items such as hinges and slides to a cabinet without a problem. When generating the buy list, the list only shows me the purchased doors. No other items are listed. When I check the cabinet defaults window, all the items are there. Any ideas?

Re: Printing problems with nesting diagrams

I know this is an old post, but afterall, it is Monday. I spent most of the day working on three different jobs. The last job was a large commercial job for a local church. Got to the point where I nested my boxes and decided to print off the nesting diagrams. No matter what I did, I kept getting an...

Don't know what happened here. I'm working on a bath vanity assembly and couldn't click on any nodes to dimension the sink, then all of a sudden it started working. Dunno what caused it to start working. Another question? Is there a good tutorial on putting an edge profile on a part in the part edit...

Image node questions (I think)

Good Saturday morning! I'm working on a bath assembly vanity for a client and I have questions regarding imported images. In a nutshell, I went to the Kohler site found the sink I needed, imported the sink into Autocad and converted the file to an stl. I took the stl file and imported it into the DP...

I make lots of doors. All shapes and sizes. Of course, I'm set up to do that too with dedicated machinery including RF glue presses, Voorwood panel raisers, Weaver Shapers, etc. With that said, I can honestly say that it is almost always better to outsource your doors. In the past, I've bought doors...

Oh, before I forget! My next step is to try the production sharing aspect of the program. I would like to locate a regionally local shop which I could send over a small cabinet job to test the waters. Has anyone done production sharing yet and if so, how did it work out? Likewise, did you find it co...

I thought the same thing when I first mentioned this Kerry. As long as we make it clear that CA is not a cabinetmaking software, then I hope it will be okay. I agree completely. I wish that some of the features in CA could be adapted by ECabs too. Drawing the walls and placing doors and windows (and...

Hey Michael: Just noticed that you are from Aiken. I grew up in Rock Hill. Chief Architect is a great product. I typically draw my interior walls on the fly in layout mode, then drop the boxes in place. Then I go to elevation view and make any changes to the boxes. Chief Architect is not a cabinet s...

Cool! Thanks Todd. That is exactly what I was looking for. I know this is probably not the way to do this, but I do my layout work in Chief Architect. After I get the layout the way I want it, I generate a report that shows me the actual cabinet box sizes. I take this info to the cabinet editor in e...

Next Dumb Question concerning batch cabinets

Okay, I knew I would have another dumb question before I log off. Whenever you batch cabinets, it generates a running tally on the right side of the screen. The far two columns, Unit Cost and Job Cost always have \"N/A\" in their respective columns. I can't figure out how to generate that ...

Thanks Mike and Dan. I was beginning to worry. You know the old saying about \"don't fix it if it ain't broke.\" :D I have never had an operating problem with the software and this past weekend I upgraded my ram by 1 gigabyte. Since then this issue crept up. I put the memory back like it w...

Printing nest diagram issue

Hi all: Just finished a batch job where I have 21 boxes. Nested the parts and although the computer ran slow, it did nest all parts without a problem. Went to print the nested diagrams (73 pages), and the first 13 pages printed without a problem. The remaining pages printed what looks like a thumbna...

Thanks for the replies. I figured that it must have been addressed before. My search terms weren't turning up much info though. Thanks for the title bar file too. I typically send drawings out for client approvals and I need to put some standard language on each page. Thanks again. Aiken, S.C., eh? ...
