Re: crashing in cabinet editor saves
Somehow the drawer boxes were dovetail. I really don't want dovetail for this cabinet, so I changed to rabbet/dado type. Now the cabinet will resize..

Re: crashing in cabinet editor saves
My eCabs V6 R6 is crashing when I resize a base cabinet.. When resizing the drawers, it gets to "creating CNC output", then the program crashes.
Merely resizing the width causes this..

Re: Failed to create empty document after restore
Rich: Sorry I didn't get back to you last night.. Yesterday, I talked to Ryan at eCabinets on the phone. I found out that I really did not need to run the restore. I was opening one of my old project files and getting messages about missing hardware and materials. My real problem was that I didn't u...

Re: Failed to create empty document after restore
More: I uninstalled, reinstalled and activated again. The software started up OK. This time, I only "restored" 1 file, eCabinets.mdb. I put the eCabinets.mdb from my old computer in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems directory. This caused m...

Re: Failed to create empty document after restore
Another tack: I went into the old computer, opened eCabs and created a new board stock item - a "Mesquite" face frame board (I am going to get to design a Mesquite kitchen :) ) I found the file that got changed at that moment... It is "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application D...

Re: Failed to create empty document after restore
Just tried it.. First of all, I am very experienced with computers. I make a little money on the side repairing, building computers, etc. I get a lot of new knowledge these days because of the evolution of Spyware, virus programs, etc. I repair and update computers with RAID arrays, etc. I can usual...

Re: Failed to create empty document after restore
I copied the folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\eCabinetSystems_Backup from one computer to another, and did a restore. I've done this several times, with little changes. Each time I have to uninstall eCabinets from the new machine and re-install, then start eCabinets and activate ...

Re: Failed to create empty document after restore
I copied the folders to a usb memory drive and copied from there to the new computer. I believe I had to create the directory on the desktop, even though eCabs had just been loaded with the latest version and a new key.. I had opened my existing project several times on the desktop, and was working ...

Re: Failed to create empty document after restore
Developers Question:
What happens to your system if you do a backup in eCabinets on another system, then copy the backup folders to your system and do a restore?
Both systems are loaded with the latest rev. etc....
Is this repeatable??

Re: Failed to create empty document after restore
Thanks for your reply!! Yes, read only was set on that folder. I unchecked it, then let it apply to all subfolders and files. Still can't create an empty document. So, I did the same thing for the Thermwood folder in ..\All Users\Documents. Still no good Then I tried C:\Program Files\Thermwood. Stil...

Re: Failed to create empty document after restore
Update to this post: At this point, I have 2 machines with eCabs 6 r4 - one works (the laptop) and one is giving me this error. I have searched this forum, and I noticed some topics from 2008 or so. I looked at using the registry patch, but there is no eCabinets key under HKLM\...\software (the key ...

Failed to create empty document after restore
I am attempting to move eCabs to my new quad processor machine. I had installed the software with a new key and it worked. Then I manually moved all my work from the documents and settings\All users directory and my files from My Documents\eCabinets directory. When I attempted to open one of my job ...

Cabinet with sloping top and face frames
I would like to create a pantry cabinet that will fit under some stairs. It would be like the attached cabinet, except that the left side would be 52.5" tall, and the right side 62.75" tall. I'm not sure how to get this to work out for the top face frames. Short Pantry.hsf Short Pantry.jpg

Triangular sided "cube"
I am really struggling with this. I need to draw an object that is really a cube, 43.5 X 48 X 43.5, that is sliced in half diagonally along the 48" side. I have read about using the part editor and the assembly editor for this, so I've attempted to create an assembly using display panels. I can...

Re: Speed of V6 varies with use?
I have a dual core machine that I am running eCabinets on, and I have noticed the following in Task Manager: CPU usage is shown as 50%. There are two CPU graphs shown next to this, and one of them will be at or near 0%, while the other is at or near 100%. This means that eCabinets cannot both CPU's,...
