Re: Trouble cutting cabinet parts

You can also use the "thru" joinery to avoid flip ops in a lot of cases.

Re: Close call today, CNC fire

I've done the "spit on the burning wasteboard" thing too...anything to stop that fire! Curious as to why drilling the 1/4" hole would cause it though, are you using a compression or downspiral bit for that op?

Re: Edge Pull placement

We just did a job with those identical pulls. Didn't use a hole pattern though. I'm not sure if you could, because they need to be on the back of the door. Unless you're looking just for a graphical representation. Corey made one, it looked good on the presentation view.

Re: Re-nest specific material

We've done that before as well, and it does work, but if you label the parts with the colored symbols (as we do) then the whole job has to be done in one nest, otherwise the symbols won't match from nest to nest.

Re: Printing labels from THM desktop

Clicking on labels.exe also does nothing, so looks like I need that installer.

Re: Printing labels from THM desktop

Still scratching my head. Everything looks right, and I have confirmed that the system.ini is indeed looking to C:\Rolling Nest\, because I renamed that folder, and then when I opened THM it wanted me to specify the various directories where it could find things. Our system.ini files seem to have a ...

Re: Printing labels from THM desktop

Yep, makes perfect sense, and that's exactly what I've done... now to figure out which one of those easy steps I screwed up, so hopefully I'll just be replying with a  ....

Re: Re-nest specific material

No... what happens (almost every job) is after you nest, you can see what size offfall (of a particular material) would be most efficient to add. Example: You have a big job with 4 different materials. Nesting it might take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour or more. After waiting for it to nest, y...

Re: Printing labels from THM desktop

I know you don't wanna hear this, but that didn't seem to fix it, it's behaving the same. (And this time I even remembered about the elusive "Program Data" folder  ) The only thing I'm not 100% clear on from your instructions is: should C:\Rolling Nest\ contain \Control Nesting\[all t...

Printing labels from THM desktop

Using THM desktop, from Control Nesting, when I click the print icon and then Print Labels (for applying by hand), nothing happens, no dialog box comes up. There's a very quick "busy cursor", so something is happening, but beyond that, I don't know. Since no dialog box appears, I can't eve...

Re-nest specific material

An extraordinarily useful feature for CN would be the ability to re-nest a specific material. If you've got a huge job loaded, it takes a while to nest. When you add sheets, you have to re-nest the entire job. If we had the ability to re-nest just select materials, it would speed up the whole proces...

Re: THM sync on Win XP control

I used to do tech support for an ISP back in the day. If I had a nickel for every time I said "Now click on Windows Explorer" and heard "I don't have that!", then I wouldn't need to be in the woodworking business... Now, I'm trying to get printing from the THM desktop to work, so...

Re: THM sync on Win XP control

I got it. I (being Old Skool) am used to looking in Program Files for programs. And, indeed, there is an identical file tree for THM in Program Files (x86)... I had copied all the files there. I had assumed when you typed "ProgramData", you meant Program Files  . Especially after I l...

Re: THM sync on Win XP control

Thanks Clint. That mostly worked. Control Nesting now has all the proper settings, but the tools and machine variables still show all the default values. Do they perhaps need to go in a different directory? I tried putting toolman.thm in a subdirectory called "system", but that didn't work...
