Re: outline ramp in bug/issue CN 7.08

Did 7.09 address this issue? We had to roll back to 7.07, and I'm hesitant to install the new one.

Rotary playback device

Does anyone have one of these laying around they want to sell? I'm not sure if Thermwood sells them anymore, but if I could get a used one that would be great.

Re: outline ramp in bug/issue CN 7.08

Here is a snippet of the CNC code cutting a rectangle. Notice the tiny pre-plunge amount, and the fact that it actually ramps back UP to that amount on the last line.

Re: outline ramp in bug/issue CN 7.08

Okay, we just had this issue, cutting simple rectangles. What causes the issue in our case is changing the quantity of parts from the Load screen in CN. Start CN, go to Manual Panel Input, define a panel (I did 1000x1000mm) and add it. Nest and write CNC, and it will be fine. Go back to the Load scr...

Re: outline ramp in bug/issue CN 7.08

Just FYI, we are using 7.08 to program our CS41, and haven't had any issues (yet). We also use metric. And we use the THM desktop software to run CN and write the CNC code. Probably too many differences to be useful for troubleshooting, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Batch corner cabinets via Excel spreadsheet

There's never been a way to properly specify a corner cabinet via the XLS batch input. Could we get the corner cabinet width specs (left front, right front, left depth, etc.) incorporated into the XLS batch file input? Christmas is coming up, and I've been good... :)

Re: How do you change the waste board thickness without flycutting?

If you want to get really in to it with AFL you can write a program to run that will log the date, time, and previous waste board value to a text value, update Machine Variables to the new value, and tie it all to a Custom Action button on the side of the screen. Then you can keep track of value ch...

Re: How do you change the waste board thickness without flycutting?

If you do any custom parts, or need a program that you can modify on the fly, the AFL can be a real help. As for Aussie Football, I enjoy watching that... especially the referees. :D

Re: Modify Fence Offset for Flip-op

Best way to set your popup pin location is to put a bit with an accurately measured diameter in the machine, and just move the machine until the bit just touches the pin. For best accuracy, once the bit touches the pin, move it just a smidge more so it actually is pushing against the pin a little - ...

Re: How do you change the waste board thickness without flycutting?

Hey Mark, yeah, two machines keep me running. We adjust the wasteboard constantly during jobs - we shoot for between .05mm and .1mm cut-through... we like to see how long we can make wasteboards last. With that small amount of cut-through, the temperature and humidity changes throughout the day nece...

Re: How do you change the waste board thickness without flycutting?

I do it so often I can do it in my sleep:

CTRL-M, TAB, W, ENTER
Type in the new thickness. Easy peasy.
CTRL-M brings up Machine Variables, TAB puts focus into the variable window, W jumps to Wasteboard Thickness, ENTER highlights it, ready to type in the new number.

Re: Cutlist programs

Since it sounds like you're either purchasing or pre-ripping strips at 4, 6, 8" etc., why not enter them as sheet stock into ecabs? 4" x 96", 6" x 96", etc. Years ago before we got the CNC, we did that for cabinet and drawer box parts, because we would pre-rip the 4x8 sheets...

Re: CN Feature request

What we're doing right now is: 1- Initial outline roughing to skin with 3/8" chipbreaking roughing bit 2- Outline to skin in climb direction with 3/8" compression 3- Outline to wasteboard in conventional direction with same 3/8" compression If we could specify #3 to be a 1/4" bit...
