Re: Counter top joins

Thanks Stuart for the input. I should have been a bit clearer our substrate is 32mm 1 1/4 hmr particleboard which is laminated. The tops are cut to size from raw HMR P/B plus extra length on the Thermwood, postformed laminated in the spray shop area then returned to the Thermwood to do the joins whi...

Counter top joins

In my location Wilsonart type laminated tops are still a main type of counter. I have some Gcode cenerating software I was given in 2007 but it doesnt do 100% of the work on the counter. I was wondering how other Ecabinet users did there work on the counter tops. Is it ecabinets, Autocad dxf or othe...

Re: Bi-directional Single-Pass Tenon Cuts?

If Thermwood are going to modify the dadoe cutting to get the outline straight could they come up with a idea to hold the panel in place when you push them together. Some guys keep pushing for using pins but thats a pain if you need to disassemble. If you had a clothes peg system which meant the dad...

Outline cutter different to bulk cutting.

Just was wondering if users use a different cutter for the release of the part than the main cutting. We use a 9.6mm 3/8 cutter which is fairly common. I was thinking if I had a different cutter doing the outline could I get away with a more agressive cutter doing the main cutout the a normal upshee...

working out crate size for flatpack

Has anyone worked out how to create a box based on the parts cut from Ecabinets. Seem to be doing a few flatpacks of late and our normal knee jerk action is stack them on a guessed size bottom 16mm particleboard and when it reaches its safe lifting height create box 2 if required.Cut sides to height...

Re: spoil sheet support for a MTR Thermwood

Hi Brad,Sorry for the delay in replying. I must have missed a email message that you had replied. Yes its from 2008 a great year if your trying to sell a house below cost. I was led to believe this was special MDF and had to come from the USA. Upon recently checking the density, it was available in ...

Re: spoil sheet support for a MTR Thermwood

Thanks Jeremy. Good tip. I do have a hold down issue with the waste board we fly cut lifting a bit in the 0,0 area. Your solution may well solve that. I believe the cutcentre machine has 4 sacrifical wooden dowells in each corner that hold the waste board in position. That would help with hold down ...

spoil sheet support for a MTR Thermwood

Not sure what you call the sheet of mdf you have under your spoil sheet. Mine is really old, like 12 years old. Buying some new sheets in as my bed is 2200mm by 3600. When we did the sheets first time we told to seal the edges with oil based paint and make sure the rubber seal is not disturbed. Is t...

Re: End of Support for Win7

When I had to update the motherboard on my MTR the win xp would not install as the motherboard was too much of upgrade for microsoft. I had a brand new version of XP from a friend who works at a high school but that wouldn't work as it referred back to microsoft support who were very polite but said...

Re: Kinda off the subject of eCabs - TWD CNC machines

One small concideration is running costs. We have two 360 M3 Becker pumps. Originally was sold one pump 500 M3 but due to problems in Australia I had a free upgrade. These pumps really gulp down power (like a Cadilac towing a tri axle caravan). I think some guys are running inverters. Clint might ex...

Re: Kinda off the subject of eCabs - TWD CNC machines

I bought my MTR21 in 2008 and it has been the longest cnc I have had. In 1993 I had a Morbadelli manual tool change, Then A mastwerwood 3 tool change, A Tekcel ( local Australian machine) 10 tool change and then the Thermwood. Did have some teething problems as it was made on a Friday. To Thermwood'...

Re: Colored symbols on labels

Hi Mark, We have been using the 10 stickers to a page for a few years now. The advantage is quicker printing, better print quality when you have old eyes and colour over our old thermal printer. I have a Aussie label supplier if interested. You can print to any A4 printer just to try it out. Regards...

Re: Colored symbols on labels

Thats a good point Kerry. The animals may need to be country specific. If you are near the Mexican border you may need animals the staff will recognise like Coyotes, Donkeys and Eagles. If you are from Canada I can imagine Moose,Bears and other cuddley animals. All I can think of here are dangerous ...
