Re: Drawbar 1 Up switchnot closed

Hello Steve, If the air pressure is good and the toolholder is clean, the drawbar up sensor may need to be adjusted or replaced. Does it do it on all of your tools or is it just one tool? Call us here at Thermwood and we can help you get it straightened out. You can also contact CNC Automation in Ca...

Re: Siemens IR Module Fault

Hello Jeff, The input 72 stop string runs through the tooling lockout switch to the front panel e-stop switch and then through the ESCR relay then to the enable card down on the Siemens power module. If you have a volt meter we can check to make sure the 24 volts DC is getting through both switches ...

Re: Home position change

Hello, It sounds like it could be homing out on the wrong revolution of the motor. If the numbers in the normalize box are bad that could be what is happening. If you home the V table using the normalize function, you will see two numbers. The top number should be roughly half of the bottom number. ...

Re: Table (axis 1) stutter

Marius, It sounds like it is mechanical if it is getting worse. I would look at a few things on the table. Before you look at anything else make sure the timing belt is tight and not missing any teeth. Then: 1. The ballnut that rides on the leadscrew. This is the bearing that actually drives that ta...

Re: Table (axis 1) stutter

Hello Marius, Has this been an ongoing thing or did it just start to do it? To check mechanical backlash, you will need a dial indicator and a magnetic base to mount the indicator to. Place the the magnetic base onto the base of the machine and load the indicator onto the table drive. With the indic...

Re: Automatic oiler problem?

Hello Chris, Yes, the manifold will be empty. A light residue on the rails is what you are looking for. I would check to see if you have any dry rails. You can also turn the oilers up so that they drip faster. The rails should then have a heavier amount of oil on them and maybe you can see if one ra...

Hello, When you align a new anti-whip on the machine, make sure it is level with the leadscrew. The leadscrew should also be in the center of the anti-whip. To set the height move the axis over as close as you can to the anti-whip and then move it up until it is just touching the leadscrew and again...

Hey Dan, Does the machine come back out of stop or do you have to shut the control down and power back up? If you have to power down then chances are the variable speed drive is tripping out and we will need to see what error is showing up on it. If it comes right back out of stop it could be the ai...

Hello Marius, There are four usb ports on the mother board but two of them are disabled on purpose. The two under the network card are the ones that should be disabled. That would be 24D4. These have to be disabled for the profibus card to work properly. Try using the other two usb's and see if they...

Hello Steven, This is a c-marker error. There is a procedure in the machine manual to re-align the c-marker. I also have a shorter version of that procedure that I will attatch. The home switch for whatever reason is being tripped at a slightly different time than it used to. This could be caused by...

Nick, It sounds like the Toolman.thm file in the System folder of the C: drive has gotten corrupted somehow. Try closing the THM software and open the System folder to find the toolman file. You can rename the toolman.thm file to toolman.123. There is another toolman file in there as well. Should be...

Hello, Does the error come up when you press NC Reset or when you press the front panel e-stop button in? This is common to see when pressing the front panel stop in because it is tied into the same circuit as the tooling lockout switch. You can delete the PLC history file in the System folder of th...

2 pounds isn't going to hurt anything. If you have any more trouble with the tool changer, instead of raising it higher than 60 psi, open up the in-line flow control valve. It is located right as the air line leaves the gauge.

Hello Nemanja, We typically recommend 90 to 100 psi at the main. If you are not using any aggregate tools then you can turn it up some and it should not affect the machine. You may want to check the small gauge that is marked for 58 psi for the tool release. This gauge reads 0 until the tool is rele...
