Recent project cut on our CNC
Here is some pictures of one of our recent projects that was cut on our CS 40. It is a 16 ft. jon boat that was made for our own use. Another title could have been What Small Cabinet Shops Do When They Are Slow. It needs two more coats of paint and it should be ready to put in the water. We are plan...

Re: inefficient drilling
I assume you have changed your tandem drawer slide hole patterns to drill only where you are going to fasten the slide. We use three system screws to fasten tandem slides.
This could save you a lot of time on your tandem slides anyway.- Fri, Jul 16 2010, 9:37AM

Re: Problem with Nest
I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that the part is wider than all the parts on sheet 3 and E-cabinets doesn't "know" that you can cut a 15 1/4" wide strip, cut the 19 15/16" long piece off of that, cut the remainder of the strip narrower and get the narrower piece...

Grass Zargen Drawer Slide Hole Patterns
Does anyone understand the numbering in the Hardware Hole Editor Standard Patterns for the Grass Zargen Drawer Slides? The 4 5/8" height to the 8 3/8" height have corresponding numbers in the Standard Patterns (22700 - 22911) then it jumps up to 30926 and higher. I am guessing these must b...

Re: edgebanding and part editor
When I have run into this in the past I ended up using an MDF door. I made a special material with a grain in it (I called it MDF for "job")and did what I needed in the part editor. It worked for display purposes but I don't think it helps when it comes to production other than giving you ...

Re: Machining spoil board
I assume you're talking about resetting the switchspoil variable. Here is some scanned images from the Control Nesting manual I got when I attended the training school in Indiana that I use when I surface the spoil board.

Size of Blind Dado on Stretcher
Any ideas why the blind dado on the stretcher of the attached cabinet doesn't extend to within an inch of the bottom?

Re: Door on Wall Cabinet
We use CAD software to determine the size of the door needed then set the hinge side and open side reveals so the door is the correct size. We normally use the hinge mount holes but I haven't been able to figure out how to get these to end up at the correct location so for this type of cabinet we us...

In our shop we use some high tech tooling (available only at your local hardware store) for squaring up inside corners.

Re: Machine size question
We've had a 4X8 table for our machine for about 2 1/2 years and have been satisfied with this size. The 5X10 material is not readily available in our area, so I suppose that would make a difference if it was. We do use 5X5 material but we end up cutting a foot off the edge so we end up with a 4X5 sh...
