Re: ShopBot Link Feature Requests

Daren... Yes, the tooling groups are directly related to materials. Or, as I like to think of them, a group can be triggered by a material. Set up a separate tooling group for each combination of tools. You can have 50 stored in the Link. Each time you wish to use a specific groups parameters and to...

Re: ShopBot Link Feature Requests

Daren... I have done what you are requesting both with an MTC and ATC system on my ShopBots using the tooling groups feature. The only "work" involved is setting up the groups and making sure that there is a unique name for the affected materials. In some cases, I have had to add or remove...

Re: User Modified Files

Daren... When I started using eCabs my shop was a similar distance from my home, where I did my designs (in the AC). Online sync was not an option as there was no affordable internet at my shop location. After a few trips back and forth to change erroneous designs, I decided to bring my laptop with ...

Re: User Modified Files

Daren... Since the only file type we need to take to the control computer for SB Link cutting is a "TWD", I made a folder in the Root of both computers called "Thermwood Files". (name is not important) I use this file for: 1) TWD transfer from the design computer 2) Holding place...

Re: touch screen/multi-touch PC's and Ecabinetsystems

Karl... I tried the touchscreen aspect. Didnt work as well as my trackball for eCabs design. Your mileage may vary, but I find them less precise when you need them to be. Most "all in ones" dont have the ability to select or upgrade the video card. Ensuring that you have a properly speced ...

Re: DXF importing

Ray...
DraftSight, recommended to me by Kerry F., is a free CAD program that will allow you to import, explode and save a DXF in R12-13 format that eCabs will be happy with.

Re: Closet Parts

Bill... Try using a hole pattern for a "drawer slide" that has been modified to your parameters. I think Nat has posted an example of this in the past. This will allow you to accomplish what you need and move vertically as required, but will not constrain the rod holes to center. Maybe Nat...

Re: Cabinet to Wall Clearance - Corner Cabinet?

Brad makes a good point. This also works when using the ShopBot Link. All "DoNotCut" sheetgoods are not nested. Brad's 1" by 1" sheets were smaller than mine, but works the same.

The current online download is a full install/upgrade version. It is all that you need. CD is no longer used. Not sure if you need a new reg # tho.... my guess is yes, as it will be perceived as a "new" computer.

Re: Problem Profiling!!!!

I dont have a dog in this fight, but it seems Kerry has officially gone over to "the dark side". He is now one of those "needy" machinists. He seems to keep coming up with one needed feature after another, and as yet, has not gone back to school to learn programming.

Re: Problem trying to load job

Brad... For some reason this has not surfaced for me in the past. Speaking of the prior versions of CN, due to their similarities with the SB Link, is there only one option for a pocketing tool? I am guessing that since I set a .374 tool as a pocket tool (no tool #), that the 1st tool operation that...
