SB Link/Pocket Holes

Is it possible to do the pocket hole slots with a 1/4" bit? Multiple passes?

If not, any tips on manually creating the pocket holes? I need to create them on one part that I cut fairly often.

Thank you

Re: Floor Moutned Closet Systems

Thanks very much Ralph. I'm on the fence between doing a detached toekick, or not. I like the detached for all the reasons you've mentioned, the one sticking point for me is that it's one more thing to cut/assemble/transport. I'll likely try some jobs doing it each way and see overall which method g...

Floor Moutned Closet Systems

I currently do a mix of wall hung and floor mounted closet systems, but am considering switching to strictly floor mounted units. I've added in so many steps to my wall mounted system to have full confidence in it, that it's eating up way too much time during installation. So, trying to settle on an...

Well FWIW, I just managed to do the opposite. I typed out a reply to one of your responses, and it somehow disappeared. For now I'll say thanks very much for the info, its very helpful.

Re: Drawing Closet Systems

Tim, Thanks very much. I was thinking it would be cumbersome to create one custom cabinet for each wall, but I could likely build a library of some of the more popular wall configurations, and resize/customize those as needed. I'll play around with that and see what type of time it's taking. What do...

Drawing Closet Systems

I use Ecabinets daily for cutting parts for closet projects, but have never taken the time to learn how to use the drawing portion of the software. I draw everything in KCD, then enter then manually enter the units into Ecabinets to create a batch file. I haven't invested the time to learn to draw a...

Re: Applying Updated Hole Patterns

Thanks, I'll play around with it some more to see just what does what.

Thanks again for the help, I hadn't even realized the software had this feature.

Re: Applying Updated Hole Patterns

Thanks. If I don't enter a source or output directory, where then do the new cabinets get saved to?

Also what boxes should I be checking on the first page of the 'Item Modification Dialog' when I'm leaving the two directory boxes blank?

Re: Applying Updated Hole Patterns

Thanks very much, worked well following those steps. It did seem to disregard the cabinets I had selected, though and apply the changes to the entire library, but wasn't an issue here.

Thanks again, you saved me quite a bit of time.

Applying Updated Hole Patterns

Once I edit a hole pattern, in this case it's for an RTA fitting, is there a way to apply this updated pattern to all cabinets in a library?

Re: Order of Drilling Stacked Holes

Thanks Brad, I'll do some air cuts and see what those do. Oddly, I noticed this morning that if cutting both holes with the spindle it will cut the 20mm hole first, then the 10mm, move to the next location and drill the 10mm hole then the 20mm. Its alternates the order as it moves from fitting to fi...

Re: Order of Drilling Stacked Holes

Hi, thanks very much for the feedback. David, I may end up doing as you do. I haven't had much luck drilling system hole cleanly through material, but I have some leeway on the holes as they'll be covered with a 15mm cap, which should hide any blowout. Neville, I haven't had the courage to chuck a 2...

Order of Drilling Stacked Holes

The attached image shows a hole pattern I'm needing help with. The yellow is a 20mm hole, 14mm deep, the red is a 10mm hole 19mm (full depth of the material). In the SB Link, I'm using my spindle to 'drill' these holes. At present, it creates the 10mm hole first, then the 20mm hole. I'd like to reve...
