software keeps crashing on save after adding RAM
Hello all, I upgraded my HP OMEN Laptop 15-dh1xxx windows laptop to 64gb of Ram recently. It's a gaming machine, so it has a proper graphics card (16gb, I believe). Ironically, ecabinetsystems has started crashing a lot when I'm trying to save my job. Sometimes it gives me an 'unable to save HOOPS i...

Re: drag lines
I'm having this problem as well with Windows 8. It also doesn't want to allow me to drag a cabinet through a wall in the overhead view to place it up against that wall (i.e. you seem to need to place each cabinet freehand or type in the exact position and then manually associate it to the proper wal...

Buying a new PC
My five-year old HP laptop is having quite a bit of trouble keeping up with ecabinetsystems lately (SURPRISE!). I'm about to just take the plunge and buy a new desktop system. I'm leaning towards this one: http://www.costco.com/HP-Pavilion-h8xt-Desktop%2c-Intel%C2%AE-Core%E2%84%A2-i7-3770-Quad-core%...

Re: touch screen/multi-touch PC's and Ecabinetsystems
Gary,
That's my impression as well. I'm not too thrilled about the idea of being stuck paying for laptop components (i.e. RAM) when it's time to upgrade, either. Ya do hafta admit that the concept is pretty cool, however.

touch screen/multi-touch PC's and Ecabinetsystems
I am looking to buy a new Desktop PC to replace/supplement the aging laptop that is currently my sole computer. I'm noticing that a lot of the touch-screen all-in-one PCs seem to be priced pretty similarly to their tower-cased counterparts these days. While it seems like a fun gimmick to have on you...

Blum Space Corner
Has anyone ever designed this in ecabinetsystems? I'd even be happy with just the carcass, as I subcontract out my cnc work and need it to be in the file. I could do the drawer boxes manually. If no one has this as a cabinet or assembly, does anyone know how to make a corner base with sides on it li...

Never mind...duh!
Don't I feel stupid...it was in a different right-click menu - The show/hide menu. Not sure why it was clicked on, but it was. Sorry if I wasted anyone's time, but I don't see an option to let me delete this post.

Countertops not rendering
I am attaching a .jpg of a rendering of some office space that I'm designing. For some reason, the countertop does not want to render even though I have deleted it and redefined it...set up a countertop material with just that texture, etc. The green countertop shows up in all of the working views b...

Re: Windows 7 Slowdown
aarggh!! windows 7 is supposed to be LESS demanding, isn't it? Good thing I just bought it with some Best Buy credit I had laying around. I'd be mad if I actually shelled out cash for it. Yes it is a laptop that'll be three years old after new year's. I plan on getting a big beefy desktop, too after...

Windows 7 Slowdown
I was having trouble with ecabinets crashing when I was using windows vista. I upgraded to Windows 7 per the advice of a friend who works for Microsoft and claimed that the upgrade should solve the problem. I did so, and now the features that I used before seem to run excrutiatingly slowly. I even t...

Re: Part editor 45 degree on an edge, How to
Is the side in the pic below what you're trying to do? I did it by creating the attached unglamorous .tol file in the shape manager. Load it into your "My profile tools" directory under thermwood in your public documents folder. Just set the plunge depth to -.75 in the tool selection menu....

Re: Adding Shelf Lips...
Yeah...defining a new edge banding stock seems to be the easiest way. If I need to render it graphically for a client then I'll just place some stretchers at the front of the shelves for them. Thanks for all of the suggestions, everyone. Working through these problems is really helping me get profic...
