Re: Some Part editor questions

Mark,

Could you "clarify" what part of the "hole" you are trying to constrain when your formula gets a random result and should I assume that the "hole" is circular in shape.

Re: Some Part editor questions

Daniel,
Thankyou for that explaination. It is not always obvious what is happening and sometimes the help menu may get overlooked.

Re: Some Part editor questions

Daniel, ANswer #1- Is pocketing a drill or a route, say for a KD/RTA fitting or a cup hinge? Once the type of marker is established can it then be constrained or can constraints not be applied to all markers as you have listed? Or are you suggesting that constraints would have to simply be reapplied...

Re: Some Part editor questions

Hi Mark, Still "ruminating" :( I tried several items out of the right menu to see if constraint manager worked with anything and I found that even when there were "legitimate" part editor cuts with legitimate constraints the program gives me the "mess"age part editor cu...

Re: Some Part editor questions

Here's another. I have been "ruminating" on the phrase "to save time". I actually did a search on the forum and you are the only one who used those three words in that order. Please"enlighten" if you care to :)

Re: Some Part editor questions

Do you have any idea how long it took me to come up with the word enlightenment. I must say I enjoyed your take on that, I will get out the dictionary before my next response see what else I can find.

Re: Some Part editor questions

Hi Mark, I did produce similar results to yours. I did a cut the same as yours on the left side of a base cabinet. I constained horizontal, vertical, and radius dimensions, then exited. When I returned all dimensions were gone. I went back and entered the constraints again and exited. when I returne...

Don,
I would like to take credit but you have me confused with Mark who did all the work. Good job Mark! My question was about what appears to be a dishwasher "D/W" left of the sink ?

Re: Flip Ops in SB Link

I will add one thing about doing flip operations, especially on whole sheets. If you want a precise fit, (without the use of a large hammer) it is ultimately important that your machine is set up extremely accurately. Your drill offsets have to be very precise, your gantry has to be extremely square....

Re: Flip Ops in SB Link

Nat, Are you using the latest copy of the link? It should be 1.23.1. Unless they introduced a new one when I wasn't watching :D Any time you have a flip operation to be done it will be highlighted in green on the sheet view of your nest. In the link settings go to nesting parameters. There is a sett...

Re: Flip Ops in SB Link

Mark Twain said someting to the effect that he had little respect for a man who could only spell a word one way so I have demonstrated my command of spelling with the word "paralllel"

Re: Flip Ops in SB Link

Nat, When you take the partition to the link and nest it the only thing that is being cut on the back of the piece are the KD pockets. In the link in settings select view code before writing to ShopBot On my screen the Kd pockets are parralel to the Y axis. If you write it to the shopbot and then re...

Re: Flip Ops in SB Link

Nat, If you need to cut a single part you would go to your load options, select only the part that you need to cut, then cut it. If it has flip operations then it usually asks you to place the material back side up if flip ops first is selected, I believe if you do not have flip ops first selected t...

Re: Flip Ops in SB Link

Nat, In the link settings there is a button for flip ops first. I use flip ops all the time but I usually do it on a whole sheet so doing it piece by piece is unfamiliar to me. You have to flip your piece on the X axis and you have to place it against your fence which has to be really accurate other...
