Re: edging info missing on labels!

I was recently having this problem. Some jobs the edging would be displayed, others no edging. I called thermwood, and they suggested the problem might be specific to cabinet assemblies (about 30% of the jobs we run). The temporary fix is you can take the assembly into the cabinet editor from the ba...

Re: cs43 red line cuts scrap in half

Thanks for your help Clint! I'm embarrassed by how obvious it was. As Clint said, the max off fall was set to 100" and we were running 109" stock.

cs43 red line cuts scrap in half

Hi, I'd first like to thank Thermwood for the manual part placement feature in the new control nesting. It works great and has already proved useful. One problem I have been having on about 1 in 20 files is a red line appearing across the scrap in the nest. After all operations are complete for a sh...

Re: Don't gimme any lip!

Finally got to install CN5.79, and love the new double cut feature! In my book this is the best improvement since combining flip ops. No more recutting drawer parts that moved or sanding off the "lip" on small parts. Thanks Thermwood!

Re: new feature request

Wouldn't a rough pass with the option of climb/conventional and an increment to offset (which could be zero if you just want to climb cut the small parts) do the same thing? Absolutely, this would be above and beyond a simple climb on double pass! I suppose bit flex could be another factor; it may ...

Re: new feature request

Not saying that I don't like the idea of a roughing pass; sounds great, but we cut a lot of melamine and haven't had any lip issues. We tab all of our small parts like stretchers and toe kicks, so you still have to rout off the tabs but I haven't noticed any lips as the parts generally don't move I...

Re: new feature request

We have the "lip" on all edges of double cut pieces. We used to have a dedicated router table with a flush trim bit to clean up these parts. If you want to talk about redundancy, its watching a new cnc cut out 100 cabinet parts, and 25 of them being cleaned up manually on a $150 dollar rou...

Re: Bringing Furniture Business to Cabinetmakers

I just read your post today Ken. YouBuild sounds like it could be promising, a great opportunity for thermwood and its customers. Lack of response could be due to early 4th of July festivities. Keep us posted Ken.

Re: Poor edge quality

Thanks for the pics Neville! It looks like an easy thing to miss. Just want to reinvigorate the double pass conversation. Does anyone cut drawer parts and cabinet parts at the same time? How do you resolve the lip?

Re: new feature request

At the very least, if the double pass pieces were climb cut on both passes, it would be an improvement in my opinion. We primarily machine 3/4 double sided melamine and currently I manually pull all small pieces out of the nest to run separately in a climb cut sheet. This pretty much eliminates the ...

Re: Spindle alignment

We have had this happen . The L shape bar (trammel bar) in the spindle with a dial indicator about 6" out from center worked well for us. When you measure one side, then spin the fixture 180 degrees, you can watch the indicator change. Since you are simply spinning the fixture, I do not think i...

Re: new feature request

Right on Scott! There is nothing more annoying than a 10 sheet job with 9 flip ops. Often little or no material would be wasted if you could prioritize least amount of flips. Especially when cutting 5' x 10' sheets. It would also be nice if you could specify a climb cut on double pass pieces, and co...
