Re: Top to Stretch - Dado cut on wrong side

I also had similar problem with a deck dadoing into a partition rather than an end. Part looked great in Ecab, but dado was put on wrong side of partition in control nesting. I think adjusting the thickness of the material is what confused the software, because when i sent it out as is without chang...

Re: ControlNesting placing dado on wrong side of part

For anyone possbily following this, the solution was to remove one of the dados, and make the deck a stretcher rather an actual deck. For whatever reason, control nesting get confused when changing material thickness if parts are not set up in a traditional way (i.e. decks dadoing into partitions ra...

Re: ControlNesting placing dado on wrong side of part

The cabinet is made of mdf layed up one side and two sides. The top, deck, and ends should be layed up on side, while interior shelves and partitions are layed up two sides. When i revert to all one type of material and dont adjust for thickness, the part nests just right. When I place the appropria...

ControlNesting placing dado on wrong side of part

I am making a cabinet with blind dado contruction that looks great in Ecabinets, but when I go to nest the parts in CN, one of the dados shows up on the wrong side of part. The deck of the cabinet is going into partitions rather than an end piece, which is the only shall I say "abnormal" s...

DXF file back operations

Do back operations from DXF files work the same as other flip ops in control nesting?

Load back side up, 2 (or 3) edge trim, then load front side...

Thanks

Profile Modeler with Engraving?

We had a customer come in with an old piece of crown molding with some intricate embossing details. I am wondering if anyone has done a custom molding with engravings or something similar and how they have gone about it. We currently do not use any CAM programs which I am assuming would be the best ...

Re: Flip Ops First

Ok, I will definitely check that.

I assume this means that there is no issue with using a different fixture offset than the default g901and2 and also in having sheet and flip ops set to the same offset location?

thanks again

Re: Flip Ops First

We have the M45 model and are actually not using the pins but a metal angle fence. Im glad you said that because I am about to go into the m999 macro and change both g902 and 901 to that start point of my angle bracket. Thanks for all the responses! I hope i can gain enough knowledge to provide some...

Re: Flip Ops First

I am feeling more sure after reading more that this has to do with my fixture offset locations for sheet and flip ops. Do these have to be two different locations?
Or at least two different codes?

Flip Ops First

I am new to using flip ops first and was hoping to get a little insight. I have read through some of the older posts and found them very helpful, but have a few more questions Thanks in advance for any advice! What is the advantage/difference of trimming two or three sides? Have yall tried using you...

DXF File Nest

Im trying to load and cut a dxf file through control nesting for the first time and am having some issues. It is a pilaster for a bar with four evenly space flutes on a pocket layer along with the named outline layer, which i do not intend to cut. 1) The part keeps wanting to nest itself perpendicul...

Re: DXF File nest issue

Sure have with the same result. I ended up solving the problem by turning off any grain direction in my material, but I still dont understand why the part was rotated. The grain should be oriented vertically (x) shouldnt it.

DXF File nest issue

Once I have successfully loaded this file and added the material I want to use. Control nesting wants to nest the part 90 degrees to what I am expecting. In other words, the length of the material is running along the y-axis instead of the X. This is problematic as the length of the part exceeds the...
