High Gloss Water Based finish

Hi everyone, I'm looking at a new business venture, Need some help. I remember seeing on here a while ago some pics of some timber products finished in a high gloss that used a water based finish. I was really impressed by the finish, there was also photos of the workshop, which was a converted hous...

Re: Where r all the kiwis and auzzies!!

Hey all, been going through a very rough time at the moment with family and such. I'm out of the industry but am looking at semi-retiring and playing with wood in my backyard between touring with my new band.

Re: Announcing THM Desktop Edition Software

Why thumb drive? I have found that if you have an office pc and a thermwood then they would mostly be networked. Can this sync program be operated over the network instead?

Re: Easier Kitchen Designs

I agree on the fact that ecabinets is slow to "design" a kitchen and for quotation, but as a detailing and manufacturing program it has no equal. This is why I design the kitchen in one program quote it in another program and detail it in ecabinets to send to the Thermwood. My toolbox on t...

Re: Where do we go from here?

Hey Michael, I agree with keeping it simple, it seems to me though that the only people needing to manipulate a nest are Thermwood owners. If you don't have a Thermwood then the true nesting capabilities in ecabs seem a bit unesecessary. I see the need for creating cut line nesting for panel users b...

Re: 1-sided/2-sided material

Hey guys, the place I'm at at the moment has a brand new Holzher which has a special attachment that allows the doors to be edgebanded after having the hinge hole drilled into it. The door has to be placed face up and you can't use the corner rounder on the same side as the hinge holes. I think this...

Re: Where do we go from here?

Michael, I understand that control nesting has it's own forum but can anyone explain to me what possible benefit manipulating the nest in ecabinets will have if it is not done in conjunction with control nesting. I know there is a chance of confusing non machine owners but it really must be stressed...

Re: Nesting and added sheets

Morning Marius, That's exactly how I add sheets to a nest of a difference size........here's the problem I regularly do 50-60 sheet nests, which I have to add one at a time......not fun. A simple x y measyrement and then a quantity would speed this up greatly. Also with nest to egde this is ok but I...

Re: Where do we go from here?

George, I have worked with a cnc and software package that does exactly what you describe ( I won't mention any names) What I have found is that there really is a very distinct advantage to Thermwoods method of control nesting on the machine. Tooling, sheet problems and differences, damaged stock ca...

Re: Where do we go from here?

Thanks Gary, That's the difference, we do all metal sides and do 12 - 15 kitchens a week. Having to always replace and reposition the holes behind the drawers is a very time consuming job that can be prevented by the addition of drawer bracket holes. We do a lot of top drawer shallow two deep below ...

Re: Where do we go from here?

Hey Gary, do you use metabox or tandembox? These drawer systems use a metal bracket that mounts in the back of the drawer front to attach to the metal drawer sides. Much the same as a door has a hinge on the door and that mounts to the hinge block. Could you imagine how ecabinets would work if it dr...

Re: Where do we go from here?

Cast my vote for drag and drop nest editing, also will this be implemented in Control Nesting as well as eCabinets.( remember eCabinets is only a representation of how Control Nesting will do the final nest). Also can I get any support for implementing mounting holes in the back of the drawers and h...

Re: Nesting and added sheets

Damon: - yes that would work. It's juts my inquisitive mind that asks this, I suppose though that a situation could happen where you have one slightly larger sheet that you want to cut a large part out of and then the rest from the standard size, this issue would then be a problem, ( and Damon's get...
