Re: How sturdy is the Flycutter?

Dave, We don't actually throw them away. We use them for decks in crates we ship in. Let us know know what you come up with for a time on your fly cutting program. Mine my not be optimized. Damon, We have a hard time getting 5'X10' also. I just use 4'X8' and then cut fillers for the extra. We probab...

Re: How sturdy is the Flycutter?

My fly cutting program runs 16 minutes and 19 seconds. Standard cnc time rate is $ 125.00 per hour or $ .034 per second, so just in machine time I figure it cost me $ 33.28 to fly cut the table. I can get a sheet of .25 MDF off the rack without my forklift. We cut 100's of small (6"X6") pa...

Re: How sturdy is the Flycutter?

Damon, Don't know the answer to your problem, but here is what we have started doing. I have not used my fly cutter in about a year. We have a 5'X10' table. We use a sheet of .25" MDF as a waste board, one full sheet where we cut mainly and two outside fill pieces. When the full sheet gets too ...

Re: How sturdy is the Flycutter?

Damon,

Mark,

I think I may have this file somewhere for .75\" material as a MasterCam 9 file. If you want it, I could convert it to a dwg file. Let me know.

Jason,

Thanks for the info. I am actually interested in trying the finishes on some MDF carvings so the entire piece would have the \"skin\" removed. Would I just need to coat the entire piece with the edge filler and then proceed with the standard schedule?

Thermwood furniture finish on MDF?

Has anyone tried the furniture finishes on MDF? I seem to remember something on this but couldn't find anything.

Thanks,

Nick, We have a model 40, 5' X 10' table, 18HP router, 40HP Trivani pump, typewriter tool changer. We run MasterCam, ArtCam and ecabinets. The link to the machine is seamless. I like the fact that when I encounter a problem, I just make one call to Thermwood and get it taken care of. I was like you ...
