Re: standard outline cutter on MDF material
Hi Chris, You shouldn't have to 'create' a new material if the job is an eCabs file. If I remember correctly, once you load a job that has a new material, the machine should automatically populated that new material in the list of materials to choose from when assigning to a tooling group. If its no...

Single side material ?
Hi, I'm trying to machine a job in which I have nominated a door material that is 'single sided'. The face is glossy and the back is matt finish. How come when I nest on both ecabs and at control nest the hinges for all my doors are being performed as a flip operation? This obviously is a huge hassl...

Out of space on control nest computer
Hi, I'm heading back to my old place of work tomorrow to machine out the joinery for my new house addition. I was told today that they have had an issue with their control nest computer being out of space on c drive. They can no longer send files over the network to the computer as they have exhaust...

Re: Can't find approapriate tool ?
Thanks Kerry, I knew there was some rule there governing dados but couldn't quite remember. I have been out of the game too long now. Perhaps this is something that could be altered in control nest. It seems a tad restrictive on the machines ability to not be able to perform this operation given tha...

Can't find approapriate tool ?
Hi all, I'm trying to machine out some material that has 54.4mm wide dado's to accommodation for 54mm thick shelves. When writing the code I'm getting this error - "There was a problem finding an appropriate tool for an operation. Please check the CNC file for the problem." Now, within the...

Does anyone know anything about this error message. I'm trying to fix this on behalf of someone else. He can't open e-Cabs at all.

Importing a DXF into eCabs containing an ellipse?
I have drawn a shape in AutoCad that include ellipse's. Once I import them into the part editor the ellipse shapes do not come up. I have had this problem before and can't remember the reason for this. I know that an ellipse is a complicated shape. Does anyone know of a method to get an ellipse to s...

5.59 ?
It's been a while since we've had a control nest update and was wondering if there was one planned for anytime soon and if so, what new features can we look forward to?

Off-fall trimming problem
Hi, We have noticed that when our machine is trimming up an off-fall, the cutter is cutting into any parts beside the off-fall. It is cutting into the part by around 2-3mm. This spells a big problem when machining doors. Logic would suggest that I have the tool dimention set wrong but I have double ...

Re: Accidently deleted off falls list. Help?
I had a brain fade....I had added a few off-falls to the list to use in a nest but then decided to remove some and thought the delete button I was using was to delete/remove only the off-falls I had added in to be nested but it deleted my complete off-falls library.

Splines ?
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if eCabs can handle splines at all. I've got a carving to do that has splines in it and eCabs won't show the splines.

Re: Eclipse DXF file ?
Hi, Thanks for your input guys. I found that there is a setting in AutoCad that you can alter how 'ellipses' are created. By default AutoCad creates an ellipse as a 'true ellipse object' but you can elect to create them also as polyline representations of an ellipse which works as expected when impo...

Re: Eclipse DXF file ?
Sean, Initially I also thought it was simply a graphical thing and did do a test cut just in case. The test piece came out as represented by the graphical display in eCabs and was a series of approx. 100mm long straight lines formed in an arc to create the eclipse. Kenneth was nice enough to create ...
