Re: Sorting cutlist in Excel

Ron Select the first column where the info starts. Then select Data, text to columns, then follow instructions. Excel will automatically set up breaks in the info essentially dividing the info into new columns. You can then double click on the lines to remove or add new columns. Once this is done yo...

Re: Blind Dado question????

Damon I agree sometimes if you think to much things get worse :D I belive the depth clearance is added to the depth of the dado. we add .030 to the depth to compensate for tool daylight, spoilboard, and variances in material thickness, although the last item has more effect on fit clearances. Have n...

Re: changing hole patterns-existing cabinets

Mike
Like Wally said but you have to first highlight the cabinet in cab editor, change hole pattern in defaults, exit defaults and changes will take effect.

Hi Guys Thanks for the info. We have not got around to cutting the bamboo sheets yet, but will have to very soon. Joe we are just cutting it into slabs for doors so the variance in thickness won't matter much. But still wondering what cutting speed and RPM I should setup. I plan on using a 1/2 comp ...

Damon, was this an error for a rout/dado operation? If so, why are you using a compression? We normally use a down cut for this. Usually when you get this kind of error its normally to do with rout or dado operations. Maybe you give some more details as to what kind of machining you are doing and wh...

Hey Gene Hopefully i can can answer some questions. 1) Ecabinets does work in thousands of and inch. 2) It will work to the thousand when inch /fraction is used for display but only for fit and depth clearances. Everything else seems to round up or down and only as small as 1/32. 3) I'm pretty sure ...

Hey Thom Do all your tools do this or just your outline cutter? Our 3/8 outline cutter makes that popping noise when it gets hot but it has not gone through the gripper. I try to keep the holder and inside the spindle clean to minimize the heat build up. I also change the collet on a regular bases a...

Gene Dan is correct if you work in fractions calculations are made in fractions. Working in decimal or metric is the most accurate method when setting up for machining. CN will convert the fraction back to a decimal and this might create some rounding also. We only work in decimal or metric so i can...

if you are working in inches / fractions you will have to change to inches / decimal in settings and preferences. This means you will have to do all setup in inches / decimal. if you try to work in both, the program only goes as small as 1/32 and will round any number smaller up to 1/32. Hope this h...

Hi Jon What if you attached an applied finished panel to each side of the angled corner cabinet and then attach your pencil drws to the finished panels. Would that look better? If the corner cabinet extends above the pencil drws and counter you could set the pencil drws back enough so that the count...

Hi Guys Thanks for all your help. We slowed down the cutter speed and changed to a new bit and that worked for a few sheets and then got worse as the bit got duller. I think David got it right on, the birch layers in the core are sitting proud of the aspen layers which is causing the 1/4 inch edging...

Question about cutting plywood

Hi All We have not cut very much plywood in the past but have a fair size job to cut using 3/4 inch birch ply by Norboard. We are using a 3/8 comp cutter for our outline cuts and was wondering if anyone else is having a similar problem we are having. The problem is when cutting this plywood the edge...

Hi Mark

It would be nice to have the feature you mentioned, but this might be a work around. Why not just setup your cabinets with the 3/4 backs and when you go to cut, use 1/2 material. I don't think your machine cares if the back is 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch if its just a square cut.

Hi Joe We try to avoid flips when possible. We do a lot of RTA cabinets and have some tricks to avoid flips  If you give me some details where you are running into flips maybe we can help. As Nick mentioned its not a big deal to do them but imagine if you had a fairly large job with a couple h...
