Re: Buying a new PC

Hi Rick, This may be better on the lounge section but you sound like the custom computer self assembly type of guy. If you were say working on a $3000.00 budget where would you throw your money to make Ecabinets sing? The best graphics card and maybe a SSD? Would you go windows 8 or save money on a ...

Re: Cathedral Doors

Donald, Even if Scott did give you a cathedral door it would be single pass. The door designs are so limited they reallly can't be used. There is no flexabilty with edge treatment or how the pattern works with a bank of drawers or pantry full height door with mid rail for example. The main reason co...

Re: Shelf insets with new upgrade

Jason,
Have you tried a picture chart. This goes with this. That goes with that.
Maybe Scott has one already done in a pdf.

Have fun

Re: Problem with cuts

Kerry, This has happened to us a few times. We used locktite to put the screws back but they worked loose again. Don't be suprised if in 6 months they come loose again. The problem is they are loose when the spindle is down. When you check the slop, the spindle is retracted. They are a pig of a thin...

Re: Spindle Shaft Replacement

Hi Josh, Next time I come over I will bring some beer for you. Just hope your custom guys don't take the XXXX as being a special code for something sinister. Last time I bought in some Vegimite only to be told by someone it was a unapproved subsistance although the company is now owned by Kraft. It ...

Re: Spindle Shaft Replacement

Rob the many advantages of living in the US. Non bolted down machines, non metric thread, having fractions and miles. Mexican resturants and Dr Pepper. Oh yeah American Muscle cars. The mile high club. 1.6km club doesn't have the same ring to it. You used to have route 66 and John Wayne but alas you...

Re: Spindle Shaft Replacement

yes Jason I think Josh is saying even for you it is easy. Sorry mate couldn't resist. We did do ours as well as it was going to cost heaps to fly the flecknoe guys down. Had a mate who did a Italian cnc shaft himself so thought it was do able. Maybe the next person who does one should take a V...

Re: Spindle Shaft Replacement

I did one of those after 3 years. My fault, not Thermwood. Was a tight arse with my air dryer as it was undersized. Moisture got through my filters and stopped the auto tool sensing working which required a new spindle. Bought a new rotary compressor with the works and it has zero moisture. Was goin...

Re: Live broadcast

The superbowl does show the game in full so I guess that is more the idea. Maybe we need a remote controlled camera so we can pan, tilt and zoom ourselves. That would make things really interesting. Its hard to complain when I know it would have been difficult to setup. Its close to the mark but with...

Live broadcast

I hooked onto the live braodcast a IWF the other night as I am 12 hrs out of sync with Atlanta. Is it possible to rethink what you do with that live feed as it was pretty boring. I saw the new flow through machine's main cutting bed and that was it. No view of the feed in table and labels been fitte...

Re: Improve Dust Pickup CS43

So no one really wants to say the dust hood needs attention. The height could be a problem of how far the hood sits above the cutting surface? Well couldn't that be automatically be adjusted with a proximity switch each time it starts cutting a new sheet? I have asked other CNC shop owners about the...

Re: Improve Dust Pickup CS43

Not sure if you are going to IWF this year Kerry but I have noticed that there is a varied number of hood designs on different manufacturers machines that leave little dust that I viewed at our Aussie version of IWF. There are a few machines that have a dust extraction in the push off bar that redir...
