Rob,

The \"answer\" is to not climb cut VC material.

My \"suggestion\" was non-technical and less than complimentary so I chose to keep it out of a public discussion.

Dave

I have to second Thom's request... and expand it to shelves, partitions, stretchers, doors, and drawer faces. In addition to the label, it would be helpful if the number were also on the nest diagram. Finding the part in CN that needs to be recut should not require a tape measure. And when you have ...

Warning - 5.09 and beyond CN feature

Changes/Additions for v5.09 (12/12/06) Pockets on the edge of the part now machine past the edge for overhang. (ADDED) ... But, parts are still nested using only the part outline, so if you make the pocket overhang the part edge by more than the diameter of your outline tool, the pocket will cut in...

Fred,

With the release of CN 5.08 a \"supress outline cuts\" option was added to CN. It works great.

Hope this helps.

Tangency Factor

What are the units of the tangency factor setting? degrees? Or is this just one of those settings you play with until you like the results? I'm cutting parts where the curved outlines are made up of small line segments on a CS40 with a 5 x 10 table. Any experience on a good starting setting will be ...

Joe, I can't get them to hide either. As a work around, I would associate them to a wall, set my move increment to 24\", from an elevation view of the wall, select the lights, and use shift down arrow to move the light below the floor, and then take the room to the LDE. When you need to put the...

Rob,
I would try giving one of the fasteners a Negative inset to move it out of the cabinet.

i.e. for a toe kick change the left and right edge bottom inset to -2\"

I am using blind dados in a cabinet and cutting them on my router. One cabinet I'm doing has a back that is full dado'd into the sides. In order to change the depth and fit clearance I had to change the blind dado settings for the SIDES not the BACK. This doesn't make sense to me but it worked. Is ...

Fred,
I seem to remember something about a DLL or other such thing you might need on the controller to use excel files. Try saving your excel file as a CSV and importing that.

Warning - DXF users - Nasty bug.

I have had two sheets of material end up in the dumpster from this one. CN 5.07 DXF files Chain compout layer Climb cutting When CN happens to pick a small clockwise arc (any size arc?) portion of the chain to start the cut on, the arc is cut in the counter clockwise; taking a chunk out of the part....
