Don...
Any chance that one of your employees that wasnt paying attention ( :joker: ) placed the wrong part down for a flipOp? That would result in an extra dado. One of my "employees" put a wrong label on once with a similar result.

Re: Help with Inset, Applied and Furniture Carvings

Kerry... Watch the nest diagrams when you do this as if you are not careful and dont have a unique material for the piece to accept the carving, eCabs will want to nest and cut the rest of the face frames. Then you will find out why we dont want to nest board stock! CNC = Hardware Made to follow num...

He is telling you that you need to tell the software that your 4/4 by 6 by 96" OAK (for example) face frame top rail is a sheet stock. Then it will nest and cut.

The ability to constrain a fixed shelf (or stretcher for Rick). This would allow "standard" draws and allow base resize. Also would allow pantry resize and lock upper or lower doors to retain match to adjacent Allow face frames and "float" to position fixed shelves and/or partiti...

Re: edge band editor

Kerry... I have some existing commercial draw baxes that have a number of PE cuts in them. Do I have to remove them and then reapply and constrain them so that EB quantities will be accurate? I am talking about the 2 notches and holes in the back for BLUM Tandem and Draw Front mounting holes in the ...

Re: Off fall labels

Fred...
I agree. The last 50 sheets or so, I have just left the off falls turned off. Workarounds are just that.... more work. Which equals less money. Almost cheaper to throw the material away.

As a SB Link user, I am not sure I even know what the "old way" was.

Re: Label Layout - What do the Symbols do?

Neville...
A colored spot (symbol) on a black and white label stands out. We have had no problem distinguishing between the symbols on the thermal (B&W) labels. None of the shops we cut for have complained. They have mentioned that the symbols are much better than the cabinet names.

Re: Label Layout - What do the Symbols do?

Neville... We use the LabelCity.com removable 3.5" x 1.125" labels. 520 for $16.90 US, 3.33 cents per label. Less for the harder to remove version of the same size. I have used both the color and thermal labels. The color symbols stand out more and allow easier separation of parts. That sa...

Re: Flipping parts by the sheet

Neville... I have done the FlipOps first on a ShopBot, not a Thermwood, and it works very well. Have been using it lately on 1/2 sheets of 5/8 Blind Dado draw parts. The new feature allows slide holes in the draw sides, the rear BLUM tandem mounting hole, and of course, bottom dados that must be mac...

Re: Rules on Door Re-sizing

Kerry... There are a couple other little similar quirks when using face frame cabinets that I am sure you will find. I am sure they exist due to the limited number of machinists that build FF cabs vs frameless. There usually is a workaround, albeit a PITA. I think we are dinosaurs, my friend. :wall:

Re: Add. Part Clearance

Nat...
You are thinking like a machinist, not a machine. If you add additional clearance, you add it to all 4 sides, unless you want to write 10,000 extra lines of code to determine parts that have an edge in common with the sheet edge. OOOOOOps, now I am talking like a programmer. :wall:

I stand corrected. What I meant to say was, I want Kerry to use the same methods as I do so that he can "SQUEAK" about them.

Re: Nesting sequsnced flat panel doors?

Mike...
Yer the man! That works just fine. I was planning on doing them in batches of 10 or 12, but the room works better. Each room can have a unique name or number and, as you say, each cabinet then is also numbered.

Thanks, Gary
