Re: Can't Dado Top for Back

Dan,

I just tried that, and then a few other things, and still can't get the back to dado into the top.

Can't Dado Top for Back

Under construction settings for the back, the option to choose the joint type where the back meets the top is greyed out. Not sure why... (Be warned, it's a strange looking cabinet. I've used fixed shelves to generate the parts needed for my metal drawer system (Zargen)). 3 Drawer File Cab - 608mm D...

Re: KD/ RTA Fitting Question

John,

Do post your results if you do end up trying this. I've been trying to figure this one out myself.

Label for Cabinets?

Is there a way to generate a label for each cabinet in a room? (Not parts, but completed units?)

Re: The operation performed...violate...

Chris, no end boring, the holes are just pilot holes for screws which self drill into the ends of the decks and tops. I've oversized the holes for clarity (4mm). The drill I use for the holes is also setup in the software as 4mm, even though the bit is actually smaller than that.

Re: The operation performed...violate...

Chris, for the deck and top pilot holes, I just modified an RTA hole pattern, to include only the hole for the stud. Then just adjusted the diameter and location of the hole. Then you're just dealing with the RTA settings to get the hole depth. So far, I like it...

The operation performed...violate...

I keep getting this error message in PE: 'The operation performed on the current part violate the ideal tenons or dadoes. You might see some unexpected results' I've gotten it on several, distinct cabinets, and it seems to be come up when there are holes for the adjustable shelves. It has caused the...

Re: Assembly Screw Holes

Chris, On the RTA fittings, I took the stud out of the hole pattern and things were fine. I hadn't had a problem with the RTA fittings themselves, but when the shelf holes were added, things were acting up. The fact that they were in line with each other (never overlapped) may have contributed. I ha...

Assembly Screw Holes

Is there a way to limit a stretcher to have just one RTA fitting per end? I may go the route of using a piece of RTA hardware with a modified hole pattern to generate my pilot holes (thanks to Joe Dusel for the suggestion!), but need to iron this part of it out. All I'm coming up is to set the front...

Re: Wish List for Version 6

I'd to see this also, and was a little suprised to find that this option didn't exist. Another drawback with using the adjustable shelf to create the holes is that I've had the shelf inadvertantly shift. Not a real problem if you're just using the holes for shelves, but definitely an issue if you're...

Re: Error with Shelf Holes

Kerry, I do think the error is coming about within E-cabinets. I changed a number of things back and forth, but think that the error message within PE, was consistant with the parts that were drilled incorrectly. I cut the parts today, eliminating the stud from the hole pattern for the RTA fitting, ...

Re: Error with Shelf Holes

Nick, No setting for max. step depth. Something's buggy. This cabinet was just one in nest a nest of several, all had the same shelf hole depth, and this is the only one that ended up getting drilled twice. This is the only one thatI used a shelf to generate the shelf holes for, though. I've added s...

Re: Error with Shelf Holes

Thanks Kerry. I have a Shopbot, and I was treading water, trying every route I could think of to avoid paying the $22K to for the CNC add on to my CabinetVision software. Then along came the SB/E-Cabinets Link. I hadn't used E-Cabs before, but ordered it when I heard of the Link becoming available, ...

Re: Error with Shelf Holes

On the CNC it's drilling each row of holes twice.

The RTA fittings for the top have a stud that was in line with the shelf holes, which seemed to be causing the problem. I can use the shelf holes for all my RTA studs and sidestep the issue, for now...
