Re: Full Dado with Pilot Holes?

"These things were always so much easier until Windows started "helping" (getting in the way of) perform tasks." --- you can say that again! Not sure what version of Windoze you're using, therefore I'm not sure how much nannying you need to overcome. But this way should work: Re...

Re: Full Dado with Pilot Holes?

Thank you so much for providing these PTN files. A question, I'm trying to rename them to a PTN file and when I right click and select rename, and put .ptn in the name, it appears to now be a fil.ptn.txt file. How do I get rid of the .txt extension and change it to a .ptn extension? These things wer...

Re: Is there an easy way to move walls?

Thanks Ralph. That's exactly what I was looking for. It's unfortunate that the help manual does not spell this out..

Thank you again! :D

Is there an easy way to move walls?

I'm trying to simply move a couple of walls from one location to another on my custom layout. If I select the walls, why can't I use the move objects command of holding the shift key while I hit the arrow keys? That doesn't seem to work. Is there another way to move walls to where I want them positi...

Re: Can't have 2 faceframe thickness materials?

Here you go Leo. I did this for a customer very recently. All done in eCabs.

Adding a door to a cabinet with a fixed shelf

I've got an 83" tall cabinet, 48" wide. There is one FIXED shelf at 40" up from the bottom. I would like to add a double door that extends from the bottom to the top of the cabinet. eCabs keeps stopping me and telling me it will add a door in the lower section (below the fixed shelf) ...

Re: I've got a good challenge for the REALLY experienced eCab users here

Been some updates with customer specs. Here is a corner (outlined in RED) that I'm wondering if it is possible to use eCabs to do the design for. Would this be a HIGHLY modified corner cabinet? Or should I plan on designing it in Sketchup? Thanks!!

I'm so sorry Mark. Thank you so much for the work you did!!! :D

I'm going to load the cabinets up and try and see how you did them. I wish I had half the talent as you in doing these challenging projects.

Re: I've got a good challenge for the REALLY experienced eCab users here

Ralph, Thanks for the reply on this. It is a real project. I'm trying to see if it would be possible to do the weird shaped cabinets in eCabs, or if I need to do them in Sketchup and import the files into Aspire to cut the parts. It looks like you have something very close to what is needed. Let me ...

I've got a good challenge for the REALLY experienced eCab users here

Two cabinets that need to fit an irregular wall shape. The attached picture has two cabinets - outlined in red - that I would like to know if it's even possible to do in eCabs? The other option is to design them in Sketchup and go from there. I know the red outline is a little small, but if you zoom...

Re: How do I stop being thick?

I switch back and forth between inches (my native measurement) and metric all the time in the settings dialog. Many hardware settings are done in metric. Other things are done in inches. It would be nice to have a "toggle" to switch back and forth no matter where you are in the program. Ye...

Re: Short cuts any thoughts?

Mark, One of the things I miss, when using eCabs, is shortcut keys. I hate always having to take my hands off the keyboard to do something. Like you said, most all other Windows programs support preprogrammed short cut keys or user programmable shortcut keys. In a program as complex as eCabs, shortc...

Re: Problem with Shopbot Link and Write to Shopbot

Thanks Tim. I've been working with Clint on this issue. The error is not happening when I'm nesting. It happens when I click the Write To Shopbot button. It appears that the software may not be dropping to the next smaller bit in the tool database to perform the operation. Clint is having the develo...

Problem with Shopbot Link and Write to Shopbot

When I try and write a file to Shopbot for cutting, I keep getting this error. It is pretty meaningless as it's written and displayed as it gives you NO indication of where the problem lies. I'm sure there is something in the design causing this to happen. When the software is creating the code for ...
