Re: Printer Recommendations

Have you looked at the Canon multifunction printers? I've got an MX850 that does everything well and the cartidges are a lot less expensive then HP from what I've found.

I get my cartidges from: http://private.abacus24-7.com/

Re: base 45 degree angle cabinet

Rob,

I did a cabinet similar to what you are describing. I used my CAD program to design it then used my 3D carving software to layout the parts on a 4x8 sheet of material and cut them that way. It seemed to work well.

George - coming from you that is a big compliment. Thank you very much.

Greg - Thank you for the compliment. I'm in the process of redoing the website to make it easier to navigate and a little less busy. Stay tuned.

Thanks again to you both!

My first kitchen with eCabinets

I finished my first kitchen using eCabinets, Shopbot Link and my ShopBot CNC. All cabinet work done in the past was done using the tables saw and router. My first go around with CNC was a real experience and had quite the learning curve. I constructed everything - cabinets - drawer boxes - drawer fr...

Re: transfering "My materials"

I think if you do a backup while running eCabinets to your memory stick it will save everything there. Then on your other computer, do a restore from the memory stick.

Re: Problem placing two slide out trays in cabinet

Thanks John. I guess trying to use the drawer to drawer gap settings wasn't the way to go. Your method worked great!

Problem placing two slide out trays in cabinet

I am trying to design a base cabinet that is very simple. It has one door and two slide out trays behind the door. I want to place one tray at the bottom just above the deck and the second tray about mid point in the opening. I can't seem to get my center tray to position correctly in the middle unl...

Re: Entertainment system components

Kerry,

Thank you very much!!!! :D :D

These will be a good starting point for showing customers some flat screen TV/entertainment center cadenza's I'm in the process of designing for a product line.

Entertainment system components

I'm looking for some display objects of simple entertainment system components like amplifier, CD player, cassette player, speakers, etc? I've got a flat screen TV. I'd need something that can be resized.

Thank you in advance.

Cutting option for SB Link

I was thinking that it would be nice to be able to specify that dado's could be cut using a specified bit. For example, when cutting dado's I would like to use a 1/4" down spiral as it makes for much cleaner shoulders on the dado's whereas a 1/4" or 3/8" compression bit (used for outl...

How do you show an open drawer

I've searched and searched and even found some topics where people have asked how to show an open drawer but I've never seen an answer on how to show drawers open in eCabs. I've seen some designs done by the guru's here but - maybe this is a guarded secret? :? Maybe one of the guru's could shed some...

Re: 5 piece doors recently cut and hung

Jay, those are some beautiful doors! I recently did some 1/4 round display cabinets (no doors) for a kitchen and used my CNC to cut the bending forms for the cabinet rails. The CNC cut all the bending form parts out of 3/4" MDF in about 5 minutes and then I simply screwed them together. The nex...

Costing out a job

I'm having a difficult time figuring costs for a batch/job. When I go into the cost sheet for the batch/job I see a line item called "Profit Markup NON-Catalog Cabinets" and another line item called "Profit-Catalog Cabinets". When I save a cabinet without checking the Catalog Ite...

Re: Nesting problems again

Hi Lorin, I was having a similar problem with nesting awhile back where the program would get to a certain point and freeze up while trying to nest. The program was also taking on some rather interesting operating problems. I sent the file to Thermwood and they struggled with it. I also sent the fil...
