Re: SB Link Tenon Dado Cut Direction

Larry, A great big THANK YOU to you and your team for providing such a responsive and service oriented organization.   I am currently awaiting to start cutting some parts until the release you mentioned is out. Do you have an estimate for the new release so I can plan accordingly?...

Re: SB Link Tenon Dado Cut Direction

I am a user of SB Link and have problems with the fuzzy dado's pictured by Gary as well as inconsistency in mortise and tenon fits. Sometimes they are loose fits and other times they are tight fits. I suspect this has to do with flexing of the ShopBot machine (not the 3/8" compression bit). :wa...

Breaking a design into multiple files

On my first go around I messed up and included three distinct rooms, with their own walls and cabinets, in one eCab file because I wanted to nest parts from all three rooms for cutting to get the best material utilization. A result of my lack of understanding of all the capabilities of eCab. I know ...

Re: Freezing/crashing

One thing I've noticed is the ever creeping up of memory usage of eCab. I found that each time I do a save of a job, the memory usage (according to Task Manager) goes up by about 100MB. There are some very big memory leaks in eCabs. It is the only program I've ever seen (30 years working with comput...

Re: Cabinet back full dado with scribe

Thank you all very much for your insight on this. I think I will apply the fit clearance method and over cut the dado size. It won't show up graphically but that's OK because I don't think the customer is concerned with this level of detail. They seem to be more concerned with how pretty it l...

Re: Cabinet back full dado with scribe

I apologize Peter. I've attached another drawing that shows what eCabinets gives me when I do full dado back with a 1/8" inset of the back. That little bit of material just hanging there is what I know will get broken off and I'd like eCabinets to not put it there.

Cabinet back full dado with scribe

Is it possible to select a full dado back and have it inset to leave a 1/8" scribe? See picture. When I try to do this I get a full dado the width of the back 1/2" and a 1/8" piece of material left on the cabinet side. This would break off in a heart beat and not leave me a scribe.

Re: SB Link 1.0.13 Label printing problem?

Looks like this mystery has been solved. Apparently in picking the 1p33x4_Address_Sheet_Barcode.rpt label format the only labels that get printed are the ones with barcodes. How this is determined I have no idea. :? When I switched to the 1p33x4_Address_Sheet.rpt label format, all the part labels we...

Re: SB Link 1.0.13 Label printing problem?

Hi Roger, I had a long conversation with Scott at TW and he said I should be doing my label printing out of SB Link because eCabinets and SB Link can end up with different nesting results. I found this out when I nested in eCab and SB Link. The nest results were different. I would rather have my lab...

SB Link 1.0.13 Label printing problem?

I just started a project that has 100 sheet of plywood and over 640 parts to be cut. Found out something interesting about SB Link label printing. When I selected printing on 1.33" x 4" barcode labels it only printed out half of the labels for each sheet. So for sheet 1 there were 13 parts...

Re: ShopBot Link Update (1.0.13)

Larry,

I noticed under the confirmation screen under tooling that there is an entry for tool name. How do we get a tool name entered? I don't see any place on the tooling screen to do this.

Thank you.

Re: ShopBot Link Update (1.0.13)

Thank you Larry.

One note, you indicate version 1.0.13. When downloaded the filename is "shopbotlinksetup1_15"

Any problems here?

Thanks.

Lebal printing from eCab - Missing or out-of-date export.DLL

When I try to export from eCab when tring to label print I get a dialog box that says:

Error in File c:\program files\thermwood\ecabinet systems\doors\conestoaz\5366 Avery Labels/rpt Missing of out-of-date export DLL.

Anyone know how to correct this little stumper?

Re: Updates

Just tried reloading from the CD from Thermwood and the installation wizard prompted to modify, repair or remove my NEW eCabinets installation. I told it to repair my existing installation. After completing that it said it was checking for updates. It came back that updates were available so I said ...

Re: Updates

Interesting, I just went through the process of deinstalling and reinstalling eCabinets and when I went to start it, it popped up a dialog box where I entered my registration code. After I completed that it said there was an update so I clicked ok to update. It downloaded the update then proceeded t...
