Re: Bar Rail

Brian,

The files you send did work. Thank you again.

I am still trying to figure out what problem I was having creating the tool from my dxf. The one I drew resembled yours, but for some reason I kept getting an error when I tried to create the tool.

Re: Need Help Creating tool

Justin, I drew the file up in my cad program, saved it as a DXF, opened up the DXF in the shape manager, and tried to create the tool. I trimmed and made sure everything was closed. If you opened up the zip file with the tool profile, that is exactly what it looked like in the shape manager. I tried...

Need Help Creating tool

I need help creating a tool in the shape manager. I drew the outline in my CAD program, but I keep getting an error "invalid argument". The DXF file was drawn with arches and lines. I made sure everything was closed numerous times. I just can't seem to get it to work. Brian Shannon sent me...

Re: Bar Rail

Brian,

Do you still have the bar rail .tol files. I have a design I have to complete and need to model some radiused bar rail. The files from your original post are not there.

Thanks,
Zach

Re: Probe Points

Ryan, I did find the answer to the question. In the Cam portion of the my Cad program there is an option to Create Cad from NC/Post. Worked out great. I took the Boundary program created by the control and probe, loaded it into the cad program, cleaned up the lines to form splines and arcs, and cut ...

Probe Points

I read in the Probe Application PDF that you can upload points and info from the probe to your cad system. I have my points program created, but I can't figure out how to upload them into my cad program. Has anyone tried this? Is there a certain file extension that has to be added to the point/bound...

Laser postioning system

I remember seeing a laser positioning system at a show a few years back and was hoping someone could tell me the name of the company. It mounted from the ceiling above the table and projected the cut lines of the program that was set up to run. We have been doing a lot more custom pieces and was hop...

Re: PROFILE MODELER

Nick, Here is a picture of one of the mouldings I did today. I actually did this one in V22 including toolpath and posting to the machine. Since I haven't got the post right I had to do some slight modifications to the program in Predator CNC editor. I am still playing around with all the new toolpa...

Re: PROFILE MODELER

Nick, No, I haven't had any problems with code to the machine. They actually already had the post for a Thermwood, but they are pretty easy to adjust. V22 posts are even easier to adjust. The main reason I haven't been using V22 to produce code is I haven't had a chance to adjust the post they had r...

Re: PROFILE MODELER

I use Bobcad for all my profiling and modeling. I have version 22, and do my drawings there, but I still go back to version20 for my toolpaths. I also use Bobart and love both of them. Once you learn how to use the two efficiently you can not beat the price. There is a learning curve just like any s...

Control Nesting Manual

The link to the control nesting manual does not seem to be operational.

I wanted to check some formats for layer names.

Re: Melamine Board Cabinet Construction

John, We use 3/4" melamine and plywood all the time. We also have our tolerances for plywood at .03" and we use the same for the melamine, just to keep a standard and not have to change catalogs. We used to use .02" for melamine but the guys in the shop like the looser fit. We also fo...
