Re: More about twd

Hi Scott, These little hicups only happen when I am trying to "gett er dunn." My work around for this was to remove the face frame but because there were insets I had to resize the framless so that it would be the same in size as it had been with the frame on. I will look at the file you s...

More about twd

Hi onceAgain, With regard to creating a TWD file (see last post) I changed the material to a knotty pine plywood that was listed as .75". I still kept getting the 'Deck cannot nest " message so I removed the face frame changed the height of the frameless cabinet and left everthing else alo...

Re: TWD nesting problem

Thankyou both for the input. I feel stupid about the material thickness, should have caught that. The reason for the inset on the bottom is so that the KD fittings are not protruding past the cabinet sides. I have done this in the past with no problem but this is actually one of the first cabinets I...

TWD nesting problem

Goodmorning, I am attempting to creat a TWD and need to change material thickness. When I make the change (maple .75) to .738 and the program continues I get the message that the deck will not nest. I have tried several times without success. I was able to create the TWD as long as I did not change ...

Re: Hinge Hardware Holes on Doors & Gables

Good morning, More thoughts on this. If I ruin a door whether by edge banding, or handling, I have to recut. The time it takes when in the middle of a job to place a sheet , recut the part, turn on the edge bander and wait for warmup time, do the edgebanding, and hope I don't have to do that again, ...

Re: Hinge Hardware Holes on Doors & Gables

Hi Darren, I do about the same as you. I did have issues with edgebanding when I drilled slab doors so I thought I would modify a hinge pattern, which also applies mounting plate holes, so it would simply mark the hinge cup center location. This was to make it easier to do manual drilling. I created...

Re: detached toe

Rick , I always put my base cabinets on top of the toe kick so there is a reason why I don't want them at the same mounting height. I wasn't aware of the change mounting height option in the items menu so my solution is to change my methods a bit. I get ahead of myself and place cabinets before toe ...

Re: detached toe

THank you Rick. Can that be locked in or do I have to change that every time I place a toe kick?

detached toe

Good afternoon,

Maybe a silly question, but is there a way to set a detached toe kick on the floor. It defaults to same height as the base cabinets instead of placing below the cabinet so I have to go into elevation view in order to set the height on every toe kick that I place. Thanks.

Re: Way to large mortices

Hi Tim,
Maybe you already do this but I tried a negative .125 fit clearance on a blind dado and it viewed correctly when I wireframed the part. you will still have to deal with the round corner and square peg :) . Probably too late but maybe next time.

global item modification

Good morning, I was looking for info on global item modification. I thought there was a video but I cannot find a number of videos that I thought were in the video library. It was my understanding that you could use global item modification to change items in a cabinet library. Any one got any sugge...

Re: placing cabinets back to back

Thank you Don.This program is very powerful and the learning curve is quite steep for me. I don't use all the features and I am not high production so for lack of practice, some features are a struggle for me.

placing cabinets back to back

Good morning, Today I am doing a custom layout with a large island. The island has cabinets which are back to back and I am having a problem with rotation. When I try to place the cabinet it does not want to align so I end up free style and incremental movement to place it. Is that the way it is sup...
