Howdy all, I'm interested in your two-cents worth.
I'm wondering if/how anyone out there uses assemblies? I'm sure there's some of you, and I'd be interested in hearing your take on them and what you use them for.
Here's my scenario/motive: I'm preparing to build an island composed of multiple ...

Re: Calculating Cubic Feet
I appreciate you sending me this Jeremy, but I know HOW to calculate cubic feet, I'm looking to see if there's a way to get this info out of eCabs. Possibly a custom spreadsheet that somehow gathers each cabinet's size?

Calculating Cubic Feet
Hey guys, anyone know how to get the total cubic feet of a cabinet or batch of cabinets so that I know how much space they'll need in the truck?

Re: Grain Match on multiple adjacent cabinets?
I'm glad to hear that you're going to try and have it added in the future Scott, but how do I proceed right now? I thought I could at least cut each cabinet individually and the SBL would nest the fronts appropriately, but as you can see below, it doesn't want to place the drawer front above the ...

Re: Grain Match on multiple adjacent cabinets?
Actually, only some of the fronts appear in the SBL nest. Here's a few pics to show you what I'm seeing.
1) The 3 cabinets saved as an assembly in EC (with grouped parts/fronts).

2) The EC nest diagram correctly nests the fronts of the assembly.

3) But only 4 fronts are nested in ...

Re: Grain Match on multiple adjacent cabinets?
So, back in April when you told me about this Rick, I tried it and took a look at the nest diagrams and everything looked fine. So I bid the job as if I could sequence the fronts.

Hot Key Suggestions for LDE
After reviewing the help file list as well as the 'eCabinetsSystemsMadeEasy.pdf', it appears to me that the Line Drawing Editor is sorely lacking from the benefits of any useable hot keys (aka: keyboard shortcuts). I spend a lot of time in the LDE & would like to request that at least the following ...

Re: Hinge Hardware Holes on Doors & Gables
I should clarify my item #1 below: This hinge hole ptn has holes in both the door & gable.
Hey Neville, I hear what you're saying, but I believe that it's best suited to high-volume shops to simply throw away a piece & keep cutting because material is cheap. And my clients typically don't pick ...

Re: Copy pages between LDE jobs
Mike,
I like your idea of using a PDF app to add details to shop drawings. I use a free app called Foxit that allows me to do this & it's much more efficient at adding/copying/editing things like text, arrows, etc... to the pages than the LDE.
Thanks

That's a good point Ralph about keeping both faces untouched until after checking them. More options are always better....Thanks.
BTW: I think this is how I'm going to handle this hardware hole pattern issue with in-house built doors.

Re: Hinge Hardware Holes on Doors & Gables
Oddly, if I apply the hinge hole ptn (door only) after I have applied the plate hole ptn (gable only), the gable holes are removed, and they do not return even if I re-add them. The only way to get both to display together seems to be to have all the holes in the hinge hole ptn.

Hinge Hardware Holes on Doors & Gables
Up until now, I've always ordered my doors from a supplier & drilled them for hinges manually. So I've always used a hinge hole pattern than contained both the the hinge (door holes) & the mounting plate (gable holes). EC would show me the location of the holes on the doors & gables, but of course ...

Re: Is there a way?
I'd like to take this principle a step higher. Is it possible to change the construction settings for multiple library cabs at one time? I've looked into the Adjustable Features/Global Item Modification area, but it doesn't allow me to do things like change adjustable shelf setback for an entire ...
