Re: Whats better upgrade to v6 or new install?

Wait until the next release to install the software. It will probably be out next week anyway. If you are in the middle of a few jobs I would just stick with V5.2 for a little while until the programmers get the kinks out. Do the update. That way you will still have the materials and such from V5.2,...

Re: V 6 locking up my pc

That may have been the wrong link James. Kenneth, you might want to just call Thermwood and get your problem straightened out. I think Gary Campbell just went through the same thing, so he might also be able to help you. I think it might be a good idea for Thermwood to extend the life of V5.2 until ...

Re: No door or any hardware costs in V6??

The way I would think it should work is that if you change the cost/foot of a door or drawer front that is already placed on cabinets in a room the price information should be updated for all of those doors and drawer fronts. That's the way it works for materials. If you change the cost of your shee...

Re: V6 will not save size changes on my seed cabinets

Dumb question for you. When you change the Height field are you pressing Enter to actually cause the height to change? If not you have not actually changed anything.

Re: v6 is slower on my computer

I only have 6 GB and it runs okay. 8)

Yeah, it is slower, and I have had the program actually cause and out of memory condition on a number of occasions. There are still a few issues to be resolved.

Yeah, I reported the RTA bugs last weekend on the beta forum. Hopefully they will be fixed soon.

Re: Unknown Hardware Type

There appear to be a few bugs left in the hardware database. I have had this same sort of problem after adding new RTA hardware. and I would guess that the problems are related. My assumption would be that the software is having a problem with the a character that it considers to be invalid in the P...

Re: Can't add my own hardware

Yep, this is a bit confusing. I think it would be better to have the software set to Add Items to Cabinet unless there is something in the CE that would require an assembly, like multiple cabinets or something.

Re: problem with V5 cabinets in V6

Well, there are a number of things in the software that are a bit different, like placing of objects and the hardware database. There are also a number of bugs yet to be found, reported and fixed. One cure-all that you need to remember is that if you have a cabinet box that acts up you should select...

Yeah, I'll vote for those, but it would also be nice to be able to change face frame material as well.

Re: Machine size question

Yeah, I was wondering about the vacuum pump as well. I have been told that the reason there is not going to be a 4 x 8 or 5 x 8 version of the Model 43 is that there is no demand for machines smaller than a 5 x 10. I guess I'm kind of surprised by that since the 3 Thermwood machines that I have had ...

Re: Alternate Source Door Pricing on V6

Unfortunately changing the price of a door in the Door Editor will not change the price of a door existing on a cabinet, but that would be a nice feature. If you are placing the cabinets into a room you can select the cabinets and then the Cab. Features/Doors to change the door costs by re-selecting...
