Re: Corner cabinet with acute angled back

Thanks Kerry, I'll dink around with it later today. This looks like it will save me considerable time, even so. Thank You!

Re: Corner cabinet with acute angled back

That's it, Kerry!

Now how did you get there? :) Did you trick yourself by making the back into the front?

Re: Corner cabinet with acute angled back

Like that Kerry, but with the front face square to the side, not the back. I think we are on the right track, I might have to build this cabinet backwards it seems.

Re: Corner cabinet with acute angled back

Almost. The back corner is acute, not square. The left gable of this cabinet is normal, but the back comes to the front corner of what would normally be a right gable. This is supposed to be an open euro-style box, nothing fancy except the angle. I can make what you've shown, but can't figure out ho...

Corner cabinet with acute angled back

I'm having trouble creating a cabinet in which the back of the cabinet is at a 45 degree angle to the sides. I an make standard corner cabs with ease in ECabS, but they all have backs square to the sides. The cabinet I'm in need of is a triangle shape in plan, but the back edge of the "right&qu...

Re: Ice Cube overheating

I've never had to mess with the thermostat limits on ours, but I will say that I've had the squirrel-cage blower die a dusty death. I clean the filter daily, and try to blow out the unit often, but the bearings seized in mine after 6 years. The whole unit is just a heat exchanger with 2 isolated air...

Re: Off-Fall Rectangles

My observations show this too. I wondered, but we haven't run any high $ material in a little while, so it hasn't mattered yet.

The latest version of CN appears to have fixed the roughing issue. Thanks Devs!

Recovering a ESJ from a TWD

Possible? Accidentally saved over the ECabS file (.esj) for a job I cut out, but missed a few boxes. Opened the file to recycle some boxes and just dump out the cut file and the parts list, culling the bulk of the cabinets in the process. I have the twd for the first set, is there any way to recover...

Re: Roughing and CN

The short answer is yes. I know I have the valuable data needed to diagnose, but have been short on time. I'll try to gather all the files up and post them asap.

Roughing and CN

Is anyone else seeing that roughing has broken CN? Evey time I try to click on the roughing button in the tool setup, CN fails. Happened a bit in the previous version of CN, and is still happening in the new one as well. Curious if anyone else has seen this problem. I have run into this issue in the...

Re: How to part-edit 22.5 bevel cut along edge

The angle is purposefully overcut for doing miterfolds in wood products (MDF) to accommodate the inevitable swelling of the wood fibers on glued assemblies so that it is tight at the outside, and not held open by the interference of the "swollen" inside. We just used that bit to miterfold ...

Re: Workaround for doing different slide mounts R and L sides?

Gene, I made a PTN file that has the normal center hole for mounting the slide, and one hole above and below, at the 32mm on ctr, and renamed it for the slide, but "with standoff." On the bench, you still have to know if both or one side gets the standoffs, but all the holes are there. You...

Re: Off-Fall Cut-through Depth.

David, FWIW this is my personal experience re: off fall cut depth. The off-fall perimeter cuts are often on the edge of the work material and the outside edge of the cut line is not "supported" by work vacuumed down to the waste board. This will leave a "furry" edge that appears ...

Re: Counter top joins

Doing the bull nose with the profile modeler? Sounds like a recipe for disaster. You could conceivably cut the bull nose on the router with a set of vacuum pods (lifts the work from the work surface) and the correct bit, but I thought you'd cut it before it get postformed? My understanding of the pr...
