Re: Planning new PC system - requirements?
I have the quadro fx 1700 (not really high end) card and can't open the stage file. It hangs the machine. But if I was working with files of this size all the time I could upgrade the card. The problem with low end computers purchased from the borgs is that they might not be so easy to swap out comp...

Re: eCabinet Software Poll
With all due respect, this poll proves nothing about the relative importance of this feature vis-a-vis other improvements. Also the goals and methodology for job costing, pricing, custom bids, etc, would have to be specified and agreed to, before such development could be undertaken. Eliminating gue...

Re: Where do we go from here?
How about making the feedback public, perhaps in a separate forum. There could be a public "known issues" (bug) list too. As individual users I think we must be cognizant of the many considerations that go into allocating resources and communicating future development. Compared to other s...

Re: Ecabinets Course Manual
Rather than start a new thread I 'll use this one, since I started it. Where does the new 700 page "Nearly Complete Guide to Ecabinet Systems" fit in with "ECabinets Made Easy" and the course training manual? Do you get the book if you attend the hands on training? Anyone have th...

That's a great system. The 8400 cpu is fantastic and the nvidia card is superb especially if you can spring for a second monitor. May I ask what your paying for this setup?

Re: Video Card
Judging from the prices and customer reviews on Newegg, I would be skeptical of this card. It may offer improvements though, depending on what card you have in there now. According to one reviewer AGP is no longer supported by ATI, so if you have problems you may be left out in the cold.

Re: does it make a big differance ?
The biggest difference is in the video card. Consider a quadro fx 1700 (512 meg) upgrade for your current system if your graphics slot is PCI express. From CompUSA its around $430. Thats about half of the fx 3500 which is Thermwoods's pick. If your motherboard doesn't support at least PCI express, t...

Mind if I ask how you angled the sides of the cabinet in your Ecab rendering. I have been trying to figure this out for some time. I am currently bringing in display boards and angling them in place.
Thanks!
