Wally,
Nice work there. It seems curious that she didn't want to do anything with the alcove spaces left above the cab work. Seems ideal for bookcasing and an excuse to sell an expensive ladder.

David,
I am assuming that you are right clicking while in custom layout and cannot active the \"show/hide\" option? Once that option lists, choose lights and they are gone. Is this a V5 bug you are ghaving (there are many)?

James, Very nice piece of work and a great addition to your portfolio! Using the stair steps as a gauge (looks like they are unchanged) I can clearly see the depth of the cabinetry and how it hid the fireplace. Without a \"before\" and \"after\" pix I don't think anyone could pic...

David, The design is especially \"clean\" and I can see why the client would like it. Did you deliberately leave the 'downlights' in full view in the client rendering ( the ones about half way down the cabinetry)? I build libraries pretty much exclusively, except for an occasional home the...

Rolf, Nice job. Dan may be right about positioning the lights. You should be able to catch more of the carving. See-through glass is easy to do in Fireworks graphics program. You could stick some electronics on the shelf and glass on top. I get images from the web sites of the stuff the owner is buy...

Rolf,
I use the dome lights as well. I also had some downlights up above but I've cut those back and took another cut at the whole thing. Looks better. When I get it populated with the books, etc. I'll re-post.
I would like to see the one you are working on when it's done.
regards,
Peter

David, Thanks for the kudos. The lighting thing was one of those cranky compromises where the customer's walls are pure white and you can't quite get the color of the wood to match the other cabinetry nearby without dicking around with the lighting. Maybe I'll take another cut at it before presentin...

Oh yeah,
Notice two different styles of doors and cab tops. Customer can choose which one they want. Same amount of work to include choices.

Cherry Home Theater Wall

Just finished this one.
Built in V5 and then furnished in Fireworks Graphics. Stuffed animal is actually from a site photo of customer site. They go nuts when they see stuff like that. Have not presented quotation yet.

David,
Nice work for a first try, especially the pilasters. Are those individual cylinders placed in a cluster or did you cut them using a tool?

Jon, Good work on the rendering. The design is elegant but I would be nervous about using flex-wood since there is little support for the arch, especially during moving to the site. I would use a rigid arch. Try these folks for rigid arches pre-molded in 5/8\" plywood......... http://aitwood.co...

Thanks Brian,
It turned out nicely, the client is happy, and I got paid. That's three good things in a row. Nice when that happens. I start cutting for the next one (in cherry) Monday.
