Re: Aerotech dust free
Will: Thats true problems of today will be gone ( one way or the other ) tomorow. Using the up spiral would certainly take care of the dust problem and would be running cooler also. I worried about parts moving and quality. but worth a try. Are your parts ready for the edge bander, do you get...

Re: Aerotech dust free
I am looking for better ways to get rid of the dust, air born and heavier chips, and the dust/chips that packs in the kerf with a compresion bit. Scratch out the kerfs and vacuum is good but is not quick and then I have to clean and empty the filters and then I have to blow off the table any way. Bl...

Re: template to dxf ?
Thanks Neville and Dennis:
good information.
I ended up making a a grid on the template, then measuring points every 1/2 inch to assign a X Y value on a spread sheet.
An associate will create an auto cad drawing file from the points.
I have not seen the resault yet, fingers crossed.

Re: closed contour ?
thanks Kerry and Josh
the frustrating part is not knowing what is wrong. The same file I posted I tried to extend/ trim all the lines and arcs before and after I posted. it worked for Kerry but still would not work for me.
Who ever said ignorance is bliss was ignorant.

Re: closed contour ?
Thanks Josh ithought of that too. I extended the existing lines, and erased every thing inside windows. then trimed again, and same error. I tried to create parft using closed contour on simple square shape and it worked fine. just a minute ago I erasaed all the striaght lines and redrew snapping to...

Re: which software
thanks for input.
its not so much the money as the time.
I would rather take the time to learn one soft ware package that will meet all my needs rather then learn one that will fall short.

Re: closed contour ?
thanks Kerry: I have trim/esxtended every line/arc too many times to count. I have trimed/extend using one entity and two entity. I have tried to off set the lines 1/4 inch and trim/extend, I have tried to move the whole pattern 1/4", I have tried to redraw, always the same error message. "...

setting material thinckness
Now i set my material thickness for cabinets when I write twd file in e-cabinets. I physically measure the material as I am creating the file. no problem because I am in same room as router and controler. If I wanted to write the twd file at a different location, (for example at home) how would I ch...
