Worn tools

Is it better to discard worn tools after using them or is it better to send them for resharpening after using. One theory is to but straight cutters and discard them when they wear, another is to resharpen comp bits, but some say resharpening only gets a reduced amount of life so hardly worth it... ...

Here's my work around - I think it works. I am going to build angled corner wall cabinets as frameless cabinets and make them 1/4\" narrower and 1/4\" shallower to allow for face frames. For example on a 24 x 24 wall 12\" deep it would be programmed as 23.75 x 23.75 and 11.75 deep. I ...

Dan, the picture is deceiving...... We use 3/4 stock for face frames and dado in 1/2\" deep so a 1/4 is left. To \"fake out eCabinets\" so we get boxes built correctly and looking correctly without parts superimposing on other parts, we say face frame is 1/4 for display sake and this ...

Daniel thanks fo rthe reply.. now so I understand it properly, let me tell you what I perceive we need to do and you tell me if it is correct. We will build a cabinet of this sort and specify the right and left side depths at 11.75\", since the face frame in our usual case adds 1/4\" to th...

Is it me?

I can't figure thiso out. Corner wall cabinet, angled front, framed cabinet. I want it to be 12\" from the walls on each side at the front o fthe face frame. I built the cabinet attached and everything I see says 12\" but the machine cut the sides 12.5\" actual and then .25 face frame...

Based on our experience, you are feeding too slowly and bit is getting hot. Nothing dulls it faster than heat. 7500 mm/min is only 300 inches per minute so slow in our opinion. We cut a lot of melamine and it is hard on bits but we feed a 3/8\" compression bit at 650 inches per minute, 18000 rp...

Mark, be certain to post response from programmers. We are now making corner cabinets without shelves and drilling holes mannually because it wants to put the holes on outside of cabinet only on the right end, just like you described. I only got this issue with recent upgrade. Old ones worked fine.

I took a close up but then noticed I might get arrested by the e-police for not keeping it a family show. Seriously, though, in the good old days they had a different idea of the human body and considered it art, plus the concept of frail humanity (naked, reposed and looking toward heaven) and a powe...

Thanks so far. Mike, been in touch with Gene already. Heat to 150 degrees is his recommendation. Trying to find an oven big enough. Kiln is too wet. Dan, this is a great customer and it is all in writing and documented. We have free license to \"do what it takes and tell me what it cost\"....

Off Subject, sorry

I need some help from you wood doctors - A regular customer brought in a busted up 400 year old wooden chair from a Monastary in Germany. (see pic for fun) Anyway, the wood is riddled with holes looking like termite holes and parts of it are broken, etc. We are going to rebuild it to usable shape bu...

Make certain in the operations screen that you have selceted either a spiral pocketing operation, or a traverse or similar to clean the pocket versus just making a circle. Also make sure the tool you are using is allowed to pockeet by checking the pocket box in the tool setup screen.

Joe, We use detatched toe kicks often but it is for construction purposes. When we have a tall cabinet and we need a detached toe to stand it up in the room, we use the detached toe feature. We have a router so this builds the parts correctly versus us having to saw them off later. We also do a fair...

Mike, those with routers tend to get it. And there is no percentage that works to discount the price for better construction, faster turnaround, more precision, etc etc etc. I had a guy today too who was \"needing a job since I am almost done with the other one\". In two hours the router g...

Kon, We've all had our share of what we thought were stupid questions. You choose which operations you want to be 1,2,3,4, etc. For example, I use this to determine the order the machine picks up tools so that my outline tool is the #4 operation ( i only have 4 bar changer) and it avoids a tool chan...
