Re: Duplicate Qtys or copy and paste
I agree.
The duplicate left or right function is pretty much useless as it stands now.

Re: Resizing a display panel
Donald, I don't think there is a way to re-size a display panel. I use stretchers if I think I will need to re-size. You can add the stretcher and turn it into a phantom part until you need it. All of the face frame top and bottom rails on this cabinet are stretchers so that they will re-size with t...

Corner Drawers
After avoiding them for years, I finally got the corner drawer cabinets where everything is cut on the router.

Re: Profile modeler inconsistent toolpath
What is the reason for the cuts being different on the front edge and the toe cut, when they were created with the same tool and applied the same?
The Part Editor - Profile Modeler relationship has always been very difficult. I wish I could learn more about it.

Re: Profile modeler inconsistent toolpath
Clint,
Here is a shot of what I got after cutting.
My cut on the toe was shallow about 1/8" and it cut into the top of the part the same amount which is half the diameter of the tool I used.
It also cut the back side of the tool as you guessed.

Clint,
We are using Control Nesting 7.2 and this is the view of the profile modeler from inside Control Nesting
I will try cutting the part tomorrow.

Re: Profile modeler inconsistent toolpath
Jeremy,
Make sure your chamfer tool in eCabinets is symmetrical, and that you have it cutting on the line, No comps or offsets. Plunge it the depth of your material. You also won't need to do the toe cut in the part editor.

Error in Part Editor
I am performing some cuts to the front of a drawer box in the part editor using a saved pattern. Everything works fine until I return to the Cabinet Editor, and I get this error. Clipboard01.jpg This part is fine as long as I don't add constraints and try to re-size the box in the Cabinet Editor. If...

Re: Do you cut beveled edges?
Gene, I have the step-over in the Profile Modeler for this tool at .03125 so it will step over and down that amount for every pass. That should be approx. 24 passes for a 3/4" board. This does take a little machine time but is offset by the fact you don't have to set up special tooling for each...

Re: Do you cut beveled edges?
One last picture. This is a 45 degree bevel on 3/4 plywood. This lets you see the size of the "Steps" a little better.
There is a little fuzzing on the plys that are cross grain, but sands off easily with a block.

Here is a picture of a 22.5-degree bevel with 3/4" particle board for a corner cabinet back. Same tool, same nest.

Re: Do you cut beveled edges?
Gene, Here is a picture of some 1/2" Baltic Birch Drawer parts for a Blum corner cabinet we cut this morning. The step was .03125" Bevel.jpg Be sure to use a down-cut bit. An upcut or compression leaves a fuzz that must be sanded. The "Steps" in the cut make a good glue joint. We...

Re: Do you cut beveled edges?
Gene, We do a lot of bevel cuts on corner cabinets, vent hood cabinets etc. all with different cut angles. I set up a tool group in profile modeler called "Chamfer" that is nothing more than a 1/4" down-cut end mill with a small stepover. This single tool models all the bevel angles w...

Re: Edge banding for applied end panels.
Scott, The only thing I can think of is to use a stretcher. You could add properly sized left and right stretchers with edge-banding to the cabinets, turn them into phantom parts and mesh them into the left and right ends. Clipboard01.jpg When you need them, turn off phantom and move them into place...
