Re: DXF importing

Alex, Download CamBam. It's got 40 free evaluation uses but only cost $150??. Load your file - click on the line - go to edit - transform - arc fit. You'll need to input a tolerance, I usually go .001 - .005. To see haw many segments you have now explode it. I't also in the edit menu. This is from m...

Re: Anybody cut wet wood?

No, No. The blank is 3" thick . I'll be tapering over the 30" from Z0 to Z-.75. So only going .75 deep at the max on both sides.

Re: Anybody cut wet wood?

All I have to do is throw it on the machine, cut one side - flip it over into a jig and cut the other side. Then Ship. How bad will this dull a bit?

Re: Cut Through amount

Kerri, I know that humidity changes will effect the thickness. Right now I'm having quite a time. We'v'e been having periods of ) degrees (where the furnaqce runs lots) to periods of 50 degress and humid. If I fly cut after a couple of the warm humid days and then we get a few cold days, I'll have t...

Re: clamping spoilboard instead of vac

Thought I would post the out come of my clamping solution. I drilled holes in the jig board - thru the spoilboard - and into the alum pan. Holes are positioned in corners and the middle of each side. 6 holes total. Tapped the pan holes. The holes align so that they fall between the nylon stand offs....

Re: clamping spoilboard instead of vac

Michael, Hadn't thought of the standoffs - I'll have to look into that -it'd sure made it easy to do what I want. The plastic bolts are also a good idea - just in case I have a dumb s--- attack. I haven't had my spoil-board off in 6 years. I made a cut out where the rotary goes and just tape the joi...

Re: clamping spoilboard instead of vac

Yes, Not long after I got the machine I figured out need to get some of the heat away and have a system to vent outside. It's the heat coming from the pump itself that is causing the problem. How thick is the pan on the vac. Will it work to drill and tap?

Thanks

clamping spoilboard instead of vac

I have a project now where I throw a second sheet of MDF on top of the spoil board - this is my jig - the stock is screwed to this jig.. When full the cycle time is 12 hrs. Having the vac pump run that long really gets the shop hot!!!! Has anyone figured out a way to "clamp" "bolt&quo...

Re: Is youbuild.com going to be like production sharing???

I've been watching this post with interest. I heard rumurs of this project sometime ago and had to laugh. Have you ever seen some of the designs that come out of those big box stores. It doesn't take to long to see where "that drawer will never open" and similar issues. Can you imagine wha...
