Consistent Chipload

Hi, I'm dulling my bits unnecessarily when making dovetail drawers. The tools that I'm using are a 3/8" comp for outlining and 1/4 dc (set at dia. .249") for male dovetail cuts. Both tools are used for outlining and dados for all other rolling nest files. When cutting the dovetail parts, t...

Re: Automatic oiler problem?

Should the manifold be empty? I periodically check to insure that my auto oilers are dripping at about 15 drips/minute. But the clear manifold is always dry on the inside. I know it's supposed to mist but the lines have always looked clear/empty. The rails have a very, very light residue on them but...

Re: Just a thought for the E-cabs Team

If Justin's intentions are to keep such dialog from cluttering up this forum, which is understandable, possibly, a new forum could be created for such endeavors? I feel that active discussion between members regarding features we would like to see implemented in the future is a critical component of...

Re: Wish for Export of Renders

Justin, I apologize for posting in the wrong forum. I was aware that we couldn't "export" but was inquiring if it were feasible.

Thanks,
Chris

Wish for Export of Renders

This was touched on before regarding the wish to export data to other CAD programs. For me, this relates to being able to export the design into Rhino3d for incorporation into a much larger project. A customer hired me to take architectural drawings and render the entire project along with the build...

Re: Ruffled Feathers!!!!!!!!!!

Used to be Woodweb was a good place to go for information. But if you are using eCabs and/or a Thermwood CNC, you'll end up catching alot of crap. I got tired of the hate mail. Now, if I see someone looking for sincere help, I always pm them instead of getting bogged down in the forum. Kerry, nice w...

Dan, I recalled that article. So, I re-read that article. I wonder how they approached rendering the outside? I have Rhino3d and apparently, there is a plugin that enables you to use the blueprints to create foundations to roof including guttering. It's pretty inexpensive too. My thoughts were if I ...

Hi Everyone, I use eCabs to render my jobs and people are impressed with how it helps them visualize their new kitchen etc. I have a developer/builder that like my work and has approached me about rendering the entire structure for marketing. eCabs is great for rendering a kitchen but I don't think ...

Wouldn't this option be of value for custom layout as well? Especially if it were to increase system performance during layouts.

On our higher end jobs, I like to design using drawer stacks except for the sink base. I try to design using 5 pc drawerfronts. I think it produces greater efficiency for storage and with the 5pc drawerfronts, it's very attractive.

Damon, the spoilboard should fit inside the alum. walls, resting neatly on the gasket. The spoilboard that came with mine was trimmed to fit with about 1/16\" clearance along x & y axis. When you want to remove the spoilboard, there are little push up pin with a black round knob, located le...

Change Mat'l Thickness at TWD Creation

What's the consensus now regarding this function? Is it behaving predictably?

Thanks,

Damon, We have a Thermwood Model 40 and it's just the wife and I. The machine is has been the best investment we could have made. It has outlasted every employee and has only called in sick once. (Turned out I had made it sick, so I didn't put that incident on it's permanent record!) As I'm su...

Jon, Take a look at this assembly. You have to set the door forward from the face of the cabinet .25\". To do this, you will have to install the hinge plate closer to the front edge, about 32mm from the front, I think, to get the proper distance. You could also take a piece of material that you...
