Andrew, Good to hear you picked it up quickly. We have two Thermwoods and if you need help with any of your jobs let me know. \"Ecabinets made Easy\" can help expose some shortcuts or procedure Even though I have been using Ecabinets since version 1, I still learn new things with each new ...

Hey Andrew Nice job.
Do you have a Thermwood CNC?
What part of town are you in? I am north of FM 1960 and West of I-45.
Did you take a training class or just use the tutorials or other... ?
Again nice job for your first post.

Thanks,

Rotation problem

Has anyone had a problem with an M4 being inserted behind a tool call instead of the M3, when using an Ecab twd file through RN? It happened last night on the first tool call. T5M4 and it spun cntrclckws tearing up a dado. I checked the tool settings and none of them had a check on the reverse spind...

Brian, I would tell your friend that he can pay a little more for the right material or pay you to make some more tables in a few months when these fall apart and that would not be because of your workmanship. \"\"Inferior material for application\"\" If he plans on moving these ...

Hey Brian, I would use 18mm Russian Birch myself. Those thin curved parts for the top borders may not make it from the CNC table to your assembly area. Lumber core is nice for wide areas but I would not trust it for what you are doing. I would also see if you can get a better nest by trying several ...

Good day Nick, I use PCD's all the time. Some are good but most are very limited to 300 IPM (I do not know what that converts to quickly in metric) I have been using Gladu 1/2\" up down shear on 5/8\" 2 sided MDF core melamine for about 7 + years with good success (750 to 850 IPM @ 17500 t...

Hey David, I'm glad you put this post up after we talked about it. It is always a great benefit to us all when we can share and bounce ideas off each other. I would add one more for now. I can change the part cut order in 2 other programs we use. If there was a way that the screen would show a neste...

Dave, What software are you designing in? MasterCam, ArtcamPro, Ecabinets, or another??? or are you just bringing in a DXF file? It looks like an Ecab rendering but I do not want to assume  Without knowing what you are designing and posting with makes it hard to give an accurate answer. What k...

I'll be there also. Maybe we can a session on the benefits of using AFL. Sorry just another shameless plug to Thermwood CNC owners to get more interest in learning more about what we already have but may not be taking full advantage of.

See ya'll there,

Nick,
yes you can do it in BobCad21 but ArtcamPro would be much easier and much faster. I am trying to find the example of what you are looking for. I will try to send it later.

Found it. This is not mine but was designed and toolpathed in Artcampro

Nick, I have not tried DXF files in RN because I use Bobcad21 to draw the part and export as a DXF to either ArtcamPro9 for 3D and modeling or Insignia 3.6 for 2D. It sounds like you are trying to get a chip carve look. Is this a small or large project? Are you in a hurry? I am preparing for a confe...

What software are you using? I would think that you can draw the line in 3D and then just toolpath the line with the Ball end or Ball nose bit on the center line, no offsets.

Hey DanEpps, Thanks for looking into it further. I think anytime you use a variable or have operator input, AFL is being used somehow. I hope many others also dig further into what we already have at our fingertips and make productive use of it. It also looks like the screen shot is from a CNC with ...
