Help understanding tool choice for tenons?

How does nesting choose the tool for cutting the tenon of a blind dado joint? When we cut a 1/4\" long tenon it uses the 1/4\" (.245\") bit. When trying to do a special application where a tenon of 1/16\" L is neded we don't have a bit small enough. Since the tenon is on the edge...

Georgi, Congratulations on what sounds like success in your business. We are anticipating the arrival of our router and are trying to design our cabinets with blind dados in such a way as to prevent the assembly guys from putting a part in the wrong place. We are using different setbacks on the teno...

Georgi,

I'm curious, are you cutting your parts on a router?

cabinet numbers changing when using nest filter

When I used the filter to remove drawer parts from my nest some of my cabinet numbers changed. Is this a known bug? Can anyone shed light on what's going on?

Thanks,

Steve

By using two passes the preferred cut direction (climb vs. conventional) is what each side of the dado is getting. If the dado was cut with one pass one side would be a conventional cut and the other a climb cut. It was also recommended to us in the class to set the dado width to 60% of material thi...

Help please. I'd like to write formulas using Excel output.

I have no problem exporting the cutlist and sorting.

What I can't do is write formulas from the data. The dimensions appear like '42 7/16\" instead of just a number. Anyone know how to convert the dimensions to just a number, not text, no ' or \".

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Gene,

Just returned from machine training and I asked your question. Dado is widened on EACH side.

This would be a great addition. If it’s OK to throw a wish list out, I’d like to see: The ability to control front joinery on the adjustable shelf and even select the size of a rabbet where the shelf meets the shelf cap. Some of us use the rabbet to make sanding less critical and to prevent lacquer ...

Saving Excel Cutlist

If you are having trouble saving the cutlist when exporting to Excel (like I was having) the following may help: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000462.htm This may have been addressed but I could only find an answer after a Google search. My folder options were set so that Explorer Viewer woul...

Thanks guys,

Justin I have emailed you the job.

Kerry, I did look at that thread and it sounds just like my problem on a straight 120\"H wall. Regenerating it in the cabinet editor did not help.

I resorted to the incremental move.

Thanks,

Steve
