Re: Off fall labels

Guys... I love the ability to label the offall. I understand that some sheet look like they need to be trimmed. But they dont. Just labels. Workaround: Nest with off falls on and print labels. Turn off the off falls cut feature. Cut as normal. You have labels, you have no off fall trim. Life is good.

I use a rectanglar rafix pattern for screw pockets. Works great, but doesnt have the sloped bottom.

Re: Next Release Question

Josh... I agree with all except "....a part editor hole properly constrained.." to me, and I am sure that you are not too far away on this one, proper constraint would require allowing the hole(s) to be constrained to the joinery as to allow them to move with the panel/dado, etc. I bet tha...

Re: Next Release Question

Michael... I tried this in the past, and had not so perfect results. For some reason, the SB Link didnt like the overlapping geometries. This may have been changed in later versions. Add the inability to constrain the holes to the dados.... and you have a recipe... well you know. Neville... I was su...

Re: Next Release Question

Michael... We are so close. The technology is in the software, aka rafix fasteners. We CAN set an 1/8" hole for a screw pilot and have it applied to the proper location. We just CANT select them WITH dado joinery. The 2 are mutually exclusive via select one from a drop down list. I wish for 2 t...

We both suffer from the same ailment. "Cutters Lament" I believe. The first cabinet I designed was cut on the CNC. Never did anything with the CL. I am in a totally different market now and I will need to learn the feature. Good luck.

I agree. On a framed cabinet it is imperative that the frame members drive the location of their respective partitions/shelves. Especially when using all dadoed frames as I do.

Re: Reverse the Mid Stile and Rail Float Functionality

Count me in as a third second. With a caveat, we need to be able to set and "lock" a framed opening (or frameless) such as the opening for the drawer in a base. Having these resize with height changes really adds to the work required to bring seeds to a batch when height changes are needed.

Re: Deflection in Outline Cutting-Looking for Input Please!

Forrest.... I think the difference is that the programming crew, based on our user group input, was sure we could not cut accurate parts without it. Which is true. In your case, they may have assumed that you could. As they say, they are programmers and machine builders, not cabinetmakers. I wouldnt...

Re: Deflection in Outline Cutting-Looking for Input Please!

Guys... The "run opposite direction" for skin removal pass is an awesome feature. I lobbied long and hard for that one. I just assumed that your "big iron" didnt need the feature. I hope the programmer crew wont be miffed I let the cat out of the bag. But I bet they have a couple...

Re: Deflection in Outline Cutting-Looking for Input Please!

Hey guys... This conversation is a surprise to me as a ShopBot user. I cut a good number of parts using the SB Link. Due to greatly reduced vacuum capabilities and much greater machine deflection, most ShopBotters need all the help we can get to keep parts from moving and the correct size. In the li...

Re: tenon % thickness VS. TWD thickness

Tim, Josh... I too wonder why a tenon thickness cant be set to a fixed number, but can understand why, using programmer logic, that it is that way. Lets say that you have 3/4 material and set a 1/2" (66%) tenon. Now change this cabinet to 12mm material.... tenons cant be cut. Programmers would ...

I have had some success by taking the V5 cabs into the editor and removing all the hardware and PE cuts with V5. Save them and then open with V6. This, of course, was during the time when I had both on my computer.
