Re: Cut centre doors

Hi Neville, I highly doubt the Cut Center comes with any different technology. While profile modeler has an enormous amount of capability, it's not always the fastest tool for the job. If you post a sample profile of what you're after, I'll be happy to take a look at it and suggest a machining strat...

Re: KD fasteners and tooling

Will,
We use Hafele Rafix fasteners.
All the machining can be done with a standard 5mm upshear / drill, and interpolation for the larger hole with any tool you like (we use the 8mm upshear). No drill block required.
Hope this helps,

Re: Cut centre doors

Neville,
You can use the profile modeler with ecabinets now - I believe the cut center is nothing more than constrained geometry with "stock" profiles available, but you can create any profile you wish and machine it with the modeling technology already.
Hope this helps,

Re: drawer Slide Pattern

Chris, You can make the hole pattern slightly more than half the thickness of the partition - if they line up properly, then you will get holes in the left and right ends at the proper depth, and the partition holes will be "combined" during machining without the need to flip the part over...

Re: Tooling Problem

Have you considered trying it with a layered .dxf file instead?

Re: Hardware Hole Editor - Drill Operation or

Check your tolerance setting in Control Nesting - it should be at least 0.001" and I leave mine at 0.002" to be safe. It could be a rounding error.
Hope this helps,

I've been asking for that to be fixed for like 5 years - I wonder if the wish list was stolen by ninjas

Well to be honest I have no idea, all I did was open the file and save it, then send it back to you Hopefully somebody who actually knows something (like maybe Scott) can chime in if they see the thread Don't hesitate to contact them via email at cabinets@thermwood.com to get expedited assistance if...

Do you know Jedi mind control? That's how I fixed the file - but I have been practicing for years stacking oranges with my eyes closed and hands tied behind my back
It takes much work but you too can achieve it

Tom, can you post one of the jobs here? It might be good to zip the job first.

Re: Left-Right Drawer Slide Hole Patterns

Stephane,
You could put in a phantom partition, and add two different drawer boxes inside the cabinet so you could have two different hole patterns.
Hope this helps,
Josh

Re: DXF woes... any ideas?

Glad you're up and running Jeremy. The only reason I didn't mention a chain compin is because if the radius of one of the arcs in the chain matches the radius of the bit then you would likely get a comp failure, or the bit could cut on the wrong side of the line. On an older controller, you might pr...

Re: DXF woes... any ideas?

Jeremy, Pockets only need to have the depth specified, it is not necessary (in fact it will cause an error) to specify the diameter of the pocket. For example, four arcs could be named "pocket z0p5" and then you would have to set up a pocketing tool in control nesting that is smaller than ...

Re: DXF woes... any ideas?

Jeremy,
You could try to rename the layer as a pocket layer, and just choose a tool slightly smaller to pocket with. The machining would take a hair longer, but it would work.
