The 2500M was never a requirement , per se; it was a recommendation. PC buyers are always welcome to exceed our recommendations. I've taken the cost/benefit ratio even more into consideration this time around. The recommended systems will give very good performance while keeping costs somewhat lower...

This kinda caught me off guard a little. Since we are a VAR for Dell, I access the Dell site through their Extranet. We can still buy the M90. After Jason pointed out your posting, I went and did a double-check and sure enough, the retail store no longer lists the M90 but the Extranet still does. An...

Re:

I will stand by my original answer. HP, Toshiba and the other consumer brands are notorious for including new components (video cards, disk controllers, etc) that have drivers ONLY for Vista. If you install XP on it, be prepared to reinstall Vista due to lack of drivers. Dan's correct. You run a ri...

Re:

You will need the full version of Windows XP SP2. About $350.00 <snip> If he purchases a system component like a hard drive, then purchasing the OEM version of XP Pro would be ok with Microsoft and be perfectly legit. This would be the cost of the disk plus about $140 for Windows. The primary downs...

2007-Sep-14: Updated to Version 1.0.5.1. Fixes an issue with nVidia ForceWare versions that are higher than 100.00. This is still only for Windows XP; a version for Windows Vista is still in development.

There is a bug in the current tweak utility for Forceware versions above 99.99. It'll likely be fixed next week. Sorry for the trouble.

I will try to clarify. Version 5.x of eCabinet Systems is not Vista-compatible from a Thermwood support standpoint. There are workarounds, most notably the one put together by one of our developers, Rick Deskins. Because of Vista's User Account Control, simply installing the software without using R...

For those interested, Thermwood purchased the Vostro as part of its annual donation to our town. This was in no way an eCabinet Systems test computer.

I ordered a Dell Vostro laptop on July 10th and didn't get it until Aug 4th. So I've seen long lead times even of late. I've heard rumblings from my Dell Account Manager that flat panel displays are in short supply, especially 4X3 models. Can't ship a laptop w/o a display. :) BTW, all of the laptops...

If cash is a factor, the 2500 processor will do you just fine. Also, 2GB is currently a very good memory point for running Windows and eCabinets.

To follow up on system requirements, the way I understand it the underlying graphics engine will still be OpenGL in version 6. This means that an OpenGL-optimized graphics card will still be the best way to go. The Integrated Intel graphics processing engine is getting better with every new chipset,...

Time is functioning exactly as designed. When logged off, you get the time of our server, which is on Central Daylight Time. When you log in, the time displayed is based on the time zone field in your profile. Sounds like you need to bump it one hour. Also, the software functions on Greenwich Mean T...
