Re: Double glazed cabinet doors
Sergio, This question has been raised before, and as I recall, without major skills in using a Photoshop-like product using the airbrush tool on the final rendering, what you ask is not available. I personally avoid this trap by always advising the customer the screen rendering is suggestive of fina...

Re: Weird little problem
Ah, Kerry, the mystery deepens. There are so many things the programmers have to deal with (none the least, the approaching Windows 7) I suspect this isn't very high on the list. Another little noxious item that is super easy to fix is (no new code, just screen addressing) when you are in the LDE an...

Re: Weird little problem
Kerry, That is exactly the procedure I have been using to no avail. The thing that bothers me is that when I nest the room, the cabs are named with the Mod-1 tag making me wonder if I am printing the final cab version. I suspect I am, but it still doesn't seem to reason out. I suspect I could get ri...

Weird little problem
I have a room with several cabinets in it. In the course of working on the project, I take a cabinet from the room into edit, make some changes to the cab, save the cab to its original default name so as to capture the changes permanently to the individual cabinet. Then, I return to the room respond...

Re: Changing the rules...
It seems Madmen (and women) are running things now. They keep focusing on the "bottom up" approach. When was the last time you got an order for a new kitchen from a welfare mom? This is all scary.

Re: Melamine project glue?
Rick,
Ordinarily, I use butt joinery on the sides, bottom and top, glued and nailed gunned. The back is dadoed, glued and nailed.
I exclusively use face frames, and they are also glued and either nailed or with biscuits (depending on my mood at the time).
thanks,

Melamine project glue?
I have a project that requires the cab insides to be melamine surfaced. What glues are you guys using that will bind this material for cab assembly? What are the drying/assembly times like?
thanks,

Re: Finish Product
Gary, Since I live in the desert with a VERY dry climate I can testify that water based stains and glazes can be tough work to apply. You must move VERY quickly to get the shading you desire or it dries. I have only used water based glazes and frankly while it makes the next finishing step happen fa...

Re: Making doors in your shop
George, The door itself looks like just simple rails and stiles. If the stiles have a flat (not contoured) inner edging where the decorative muntins, etc are going, it shouldn't be too hard to do. The trim should be fairly easy to curve, place and glue at the center joining point. I would build it s...
Re: malware
I am always interested in what folks do to protect their PC's, home, and shop from theft and intrusion. I have great difficulty in understanding all the effort put into finding "free" software to protect such a critical tool as my PC. I do everything on this PC box. Customer contact, eCab,...

Lamar,
Very nice work on the hutch. What a novel approach to deal with a window right where you don't want it!

Re: Geniuses
Dan I can imagine how you would feel if the "genius" carves yours as "Epz". Same old story,.... do the paperwork. Mine is all pre-done and on file. Hopefully, that will avoid mine reading "Waltz", but one can never be completely protected against idiots. They live among...

Re: Your Oppion
Gary, I don't do remodeling, but let me offer a suggestion on one point you made. This has to do with long cabinet delivery times and the customer getting antsy while waiting for them to be built. Maybe this doesn't come up with you doing remodeling so much but here goes anyway........ I am a one ma...
