Re: A cardboard box

so I am attempting to to get our CNC (C40) to make our boxes. Got the dragknife from Donektools.com. (immediate issue will not work in tool changer blade sticks out too far. searching for other alternative). (other blades will need new settings) Aspire has a gadget to make sure it turns correctly fo...

Re: hole pattern for pilot holes for Confirmat screws?

Thank you Dennis. I am able to get the holes to be were they are suppose to be. That hole editor is in need of an overhaul. Don't know if CAD like functions could be incorporated into it but there's got to be a better way to select, edit, save a pattern.
Thanks again,

Thanks Daniel but it is still on the edge on the Top panel and not in the center of the shelf and deck.

hole pattern for pilot holes for Confirmat screws?

Just checking to see if any one has a hole pattern to use for construction settings. Did a search for it but nothing definitive. Spoke with Dennis earlier but I can not seam to get the hole to center itself with the fixed shelf, deck or top and want to also put one in the center of the stretchers. S...

Re: Improve Dust Pickup CS43

Kerry, Sounds like you got it covered. if you went to 650+ from 500 it would only make you have to work faster. There is an 1,100.00+- (per tool) option that would clean your table very good. http://www.napgladu.com/news/general-news/nap-gladu-s-new-rcn-series/ and a few others all in the same price...

Re: Improve Dust Pickup CS43

Kerry, post a pic of what it looks like at home position and one when it is cutting. And what height are you keeping your bits above the collet nut? Ours are about 1 1/2" above for 3/8" and 1/2" bits but only 1 3/8" above for 1/4" bits. Are you cutting plywood only or other ...

Re: Improve Dust Pickup CS43

Kerry, How big is your DC? We have a Blue Tornado Cyclone (I guess they are out of business now) 3HP and it does fairly well on our C40 and we have one on our C42. Both are dedicated to the CNC. We don't use a brush on the C40 but have 2 on the C42. We used to use the clear vinyl strip on the C40 bu...

Re: Leuco tools

Its a NAP bit that is called a DBSU aka Diamond Bit Single Use. Though it could be sharpened we don't. resharpening is so much, IMHO, and I have heard you never get the same life out of it plus since the diameter shrinks we would have to use the tool diameter compensation and I don't want to take th...

Re: Leuco tools

Two question for you P-lam guys. 1- Have you tried the Z oscillation on the controller? 2- Have you tried PCD bits? We use a 1/2" PCD on 5/8" two sided MDF core melamine all the time and can get anywhere from 200 to almost 500 sheets sometimes, out of a bit. We are also cutting at 700 - 75...

Re: Improve Dust Pickup CS43

Hey Dave, Sounds COOL!!!(pun intended) What is your CNC Model? Do you have an ATC on table or on head? Mine is a C40 with both tooling on table and on the head. How did you get yours to work? Pictures are worth a 1000 words or more. I would be concerned about the nozzles getting moved around by debr...

Re: Improve Dust Pickup CS43

Sean, That would be really cool if you had a gate switch linked so when the CNC spindle is not running then the trough would be on and then switch back when you started the Spindle again. Advanced programming can do it.. just add a dwell so the switch over is fully engaged before the spindle starts ...

Re: Operator Training

What do you feel is a fare wage for those responsibilities? Do you have a non compete with them? My guy, that just came up the ladder, know's how to load the files, training him on changing tooling, they do maintenance but I keep the password. This way I can keep an eye on it and know the machine hi...

Re: Improve Dust Pickup CS43

Kerry... If you are using an up down shear/compression spiral you are pushing and pulling at the same time. If you are running your parts on a universal spoilboard then you are always holding the dust down, especially in corners or when you get up to top feed speed. We use HDPE dedicated spoilboards...
