Re: Anyone Using the CS 41?

I would like to encourage anyone considering either the 41 or the 45 to go for it! I bought a 45 when the 41 was still being tested but I am sure that the only issue with a smaller machine is the size. Thermwood is an incredible company and the quality of their products, along with their support, is...

Re: What our Members are Doing!!!

Here is a cedar chest I made as a wedding gift for my nephew and his new wife. My brother called me and commissioned me to make the cedar chest and gave me free reign to design and build what I liked. He did not want to even see any renderings. He wanted to be surprised. I used solid cherry for the ...

Re: Installing Frameless Wall Cabinets

Hi, Brian. I have always used a wood french cleet with a rabbit and not a bevel for hanging uppers. The rabbit allows the cabinet to come off the wall where needed whereas the beveled cleet does not. As for the metal hanging systems I have never tried them. 8)

Re: Unable to Create Pocket in Part Editor

Nat, I am not sure how to use the Bobcad file but you can create a pocket in eCabinets in the part editor. Simply select the rectangle tool, enter the dimensions you need, select the arrow tool, left click on your rectangle and it will turn red, right click highlighted area, select "cut/pocket ...

Re: Selecting Multiple Objects in PE

Hi, Nat. What kind of patterns are you trying to create? If you are wanting to do a full height line boring thing an easy way to do it is with an adjustable shelf with no holes on one side of the shelf and a bunch of holes on the other. You can set the depth when you add the shelf and you do not hav...

Re: Drawer Assembly Techniques

Will & Damon, I do it both ways. my standard drawer is raw on the top, sanded with a 1/8" round over on both top edges. That is partially why I use a high quality nine ply apple plywood because there are very few voids and the nine ply looks good. Also, it is very consistent in thickness an...

Re: Drawer Assembly Techniques

Hey guys, here is my standard drawer box with blind mortise and tennon constructin. It requires no flip ops and assembly is very fast. I use pre finished nine ply maple plywood. The boxes are clean and strong. 8)

Re: Dados and Tenons tight!

Have you sharpened your bits? When you sharpen them they get smaller and you need to update your tool table. 8)

Re: Small Off Cut Parts

Leigh, we get off fall parts like this all the time but they do not tend to cause any problems. A lot of the time they get sucked up into our vacuum system which is kind of cool. 8)

Re: Grass Zargen cuts on router

Hi, Michael. I do not use the Grass system but I do use the Blum Tandem guides alot and the drawer boxes need holes and notches too. The way I got around the limitations in the drawer box editor was like this: I create a drawer box that consists of only a left and right side made of a material I cal...

5.2 build 3 problems

I loaded 5.2 build 3 and am having a lot of problems. In the LDE I cannot go from page to page, when I take a cabinet into any of the editors the face frame and doors are all there and not transparent so I cannot see the inside of the cabinet to move partitions or shelves, modify or add drawers etc....

Re: ridge

One thing I have noticed is the ridge seems to be smaller when I am using a new bit. After sharpeinig the up-cut portion of the comprression bit ends up a bit smaller in diameter than the down-cut section of the bit. 8)

Re: CN / small parts / tabs

Matt, maybe you could use a compression bit and cut the material with the hpl facing up and then leave an onion skin on the plywood. I don't know if you are performing any other operations to the parts like boring holes or creating pockets that necessitates the material being placed on the machine h...
