I started using Wheatboard last year instead of particleboard. The raw material is wheat straw--an abundant resource that renews itself each year. It's manufactured using an adhesive that contains no formaldehyde and is also stronger, lighter, more resistant to moisture and easier to tool than parti...

...Just be sure you choose a workstation-class card and not a gaming card. My Dell workstation has the nVidia Quadro FX 540 with 128MB RAM and I get great performance from it. Dan I kind of always thought the video card wars were being primarily driven by the gamers and that a top-notch gaming vide...

Ghosts in the materials folder?

I’m having a problem with my latest project that I just discovered by chance when scanning the nesting diagrams that I was going to use to cut out the job tomorrow -- I noticed that there was a difference in the length of the partitions in the job, some of them are correct and the rest of them are 1...

Curious about the hinges, I would like to use a good soft-close hinge on my own kitchen...has anyone tried these? What's the reputation of Wood Technology ? How do they compare to other \"soft-close\" offerings? I see they are touted as not needing a bumper, does this mean the hinge itself...

You'd think after all these years that should occur to me but as I never use that feature it didn't. Nonetheless, I just checked the \"add shelf\" settings and it is set at 180º just as always. Even so, I'll carefully redo these two shelves and see if the problem goes away...I was just mos...

I think your best bet would be to call Thermwood ASAP and see if they might accomodate you with some sort of overnight mailing -- perhaps they could get it out tomorrow. Otherwise, you'd have to wait until Monday to even SPEAK to someone.

They close in about a little over an hour...good luck!

Skewed Nesting

This one's new to me -- some pieces are nesting at an angle, material's the same as the box (maple ply, same image, with grain) and they nest like this: http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/1359/skewednesting2du3.jpg That piece shows correctly in the cab editor as 4\" wide by 28 11/16\" long.....

Larry Aside from being able to dimension to openings that are cut from walls there's another major advantage to working with holes instead of just images. Using display boards you can then easily put door and window casing in the openings and then add doors, trim, and windowsills: http://img357.imag...

I built only face frame cabinets until about 1995 or so, since then it's been frameless all the way. I have to add, though -- I have my own kitchen remodel coming up this winter and we've decided on a Craftsman/Mission style look - CVG Fir, face frames, inset doors & drawers, the whole nine yard...

Out of the pile of Hanley-Wood trade magazines that seem to appear in the mailbox every month there actually are a couple of them I occasionally read; one is Cabinetmaker . One of the nice things Cabinetmaker does every fall is an annual Price Comparison survey. It's setup so that they have a downlo...
