Re: Script bug in Item window
I get a similar message, but it doesn't seem to do any damage. Click continue or close and continue with no apparent effect.

Re: Version 6 install location?
The main program should be in the same place, but the user files (cabs, jobs, etc) are put under user data. Materials are in program data/thermwood/ecabinetsystems. You can see where the user data is stored in the settings/preferences dialog and can change it to a location of your choosing.

Re: Need to make a door with a center style
A discussion of doors is going on in this thread and one entitled "after V6 is fixed". I posted a method in the two posts above, which I thought addressed the issue of displaying, adjusting size, and cut listing. In short this was using face frames for the door frame and drawers fronts for...

Kenneth,
That's a good one. One click and you set global parameters for cabs and doors. That would save time and reduce errors.

Re: Toe kick trouble
Find the cabinet file on your hard drive *cabinetname*.hsf. Then in a forum message click on "upload attachment" (just below the message box) which will give you a browse dialog. Browse to the location of your file, open it and then click "add the file." Submit the post. As for t...

Re: Matching textures on conestoga doors
Son of a gun. I tried that several times before posting and I swear it didn't work. Just tried again and sure enough, wa-la it works just like you said.
Thanks, Kerry.

Matching textures on conestoga doors
The options on Conestoga doors have changed. Used to have four options: purchase finished, purchase unfinished, alternate source, and build in house. Now since the store is gone we don't have the purchase options. You used to be able to texture match unfinished doors. Anybody have method to put a pa...

Re: Need to make a door with a center style
OK. I figured out how to make the panels. Place drawer fronts in each opening. Drawer front material 1/4" stock. Rotate grain 90 degrees. Inset the drawer front 1/2" so the panel is centered in the frame. Set offsets to negative 1/4" on all sides so the panels are over sized. Here is ...

Re: Need to make a door with a center style
You can make a re-sizeable door frame by deleting the top, sides, and deck from a cabinet with face frames. Use a 1/4 inch back, inset to be flush with the back of the face frame for the field panel. I'm still thinking how to design individual panels that re-size with the frame. Using this technique...

Video Tutorials
I have been going through the video tutorials which are now available for a monthly fee of $25. These are a fantastic bargain and really allow you to unleash the power of eCabinets. Thanks to Dennis and Thermwood for a really great addition to the arsenal.

Re: Messy data placement on upgrade to V6
There is a new option in the preferences/ settings tab that allows you to specify where your user files are located. Shouldn't have to move anything, just point to the existing folder. If you want to merge the new stuff a move may be required.

Cabinet Libraries
Are the cabinet libraries available for download already in v6 format, or do they have to be regenerated within the program?

Re: Version 6 Images
The old images are nowhere to be found on my updated system. However I still have v5 installed on my laptop. Can I just copy them into v6, to my user data? Or should they go in the applications data folder?

Version 6 Images
Just installed v6. Are the standard image files different? The Brewster set looks quite reduced; only two directories with one texture each.

Sketchup Users
I just came across this plug-in for sketchup to output an stl file which is the required import format for ecabs. Haven't tried it yet, but it may be a way to create inputs for ecabs without a full fledged CAD package.
