Re: Now that the dust has settled, How do you like V6?
It would be nice and IMHO best ROI if Thermwood would redesign the GUI so that it would look more cohesive between all the various windows and panels and make more visual sense. Right now it looks like a bunch of different groups designed it and Thermwood smushed em all together in one package. It w...

Re: RTA Hardware Association Issues
Also, What the heck is the point of the first page of the KD/RTA menu? Why does it allow you to select hardware and hole patterns here as though it might actually apply your choices to the cabinet parts via left mouse click/construction settings? This first page seems to do nothing. What am I missin...

Re: RTA Hardware Association Issues
Whoops, I figured it out. You need to have the KD/RTA selected in the left mouse click "construction settings". Then go to the right hand fly out menu. Select KD/RTA. Hit the teeny icon. Select the RTA. Select the hole pattern for the RTA, much like the edgebanding editor. Hit apply. :shoc...

Re: RTA Hardware Association Issues
Ohhhh......, Yeah, that did it. Glad to see were still able to designate edges with various KD/RTA hardware. I'm still baffled, though. What is the purpose of the KD/RTA image and hole pattern on the first page of the fly out menu? It looks like the only way to get the RTA's and their associated hol...

RTA Hardware Association Issues
Hi All, As were trying to wrap our head around 6.4 there seems to be a problem with getting our ptn. files associated with our RTA hardware. In the past we were drilling screw pilot holes for our case construction by associating a 1/8 hole .765" deep to a piece of never used hardware that had t...

construction settings request?
I don't know if anyone else would find it useful but is there any way for a parts construction setting parameters be brought up after it has been selected? Specifically, in some of my cabinet modifications might be more than one partition. Each partition would be added with separate construction par...

Re: owners with issues
Thanks Kenneth, Although the shop I do business with doesn't run a ShopBot it's good to now that the program is running well for you on yours. I'm not sure if there would be a big difference with the Thermwood controller or not. Hopefully everyone owning a machine is having good success with the pro...

owners with issues
Hi All, Could any Thermwood owners out there recommend the stability of E-cabs 6.3. I have a small shop and have my files cut by a another shop owning a Thermwood. There was some issues associated with running 6.2 and we dumped it for the earlier v5.2 as it was costing money in delays and spoiled sh...

Hey, howcum.......
O.K., This may not be a good time to bring this subject up while everybody is wrapping their head around V6 but maybe, as long as Thermwood is in there wrenching on it, would it be a good idea to have the tenon thickness a direct value input? Maybe I'm missing something but would it be more helpful ...

Re: Speed follow up
Neville, That is a good idea of tring to test speeds with a trial cabinet. Maybe a shared room that is already built to test on each others rigs would be very helpfull. As I'm building my next computer I had my tech guy look over the system requirements on the site. He mentioned that the some of the...

Re: Speed follow up
Whups! My Bad. My apologies. My intention was to figure out if hardware could give any performance gain to the e-cabs program that could help us get thru the design stage of selling. Most specifically the room display. The other program was mentioned as a benchmark to try to get to for any hardware ...

Re: Speed follow up
Thanks Don & Dan, Thanks for the lowdown on the computer build Don. I will use it as a yardstick when I pull the trigger on a new computer. I hope that the performance boost made it worth it. Currently, it is felt that e-cabs falls short in the selling department. The room displays definately he...

Speed follow up
Evening all, Just finished Nat's post on trying to speed things up for running e-cabs. We've been kicking around the idea of finding a faster program like KCDW for the sake of being able to turn around designs in order to get the jobs. Taking software as it comes there is no one magic bullet and the...

Creating hole patterns in DXF format?
Hi Everyone, I have a job in that requires alot of roll out's in the cabinetry. The drawer slides will be the accuride 9308's . The hole pattern will be created and associated with a peice of hardware that we will never use and it's identity logged in our hole pattern note book we keep when we do th...
