Re: CN Feature request

Yes. We could run the roughing/ hogging tool for longer use because a few little chips to melamine faces would get cleaned up by keeping a good outline tool. I don't know how the wear times would stack up but it should at least amount to less new tool changes. Sometimes for various reasons  be...

Re: 2 glitches in one Drawer lock dado predrill and stretcher rotation

Hi Nicholas. The predrills show up and look ok until you nest and you can see that they disappear Yes I can see where they disappear. Its interesting to see how others use the software. I haven't created a drawer with your settings to mess around with to explore, but I wonder if you put a 1mm gap in...

Re: Options for Line drawings

Hi Chris I also use Vectric Aspire but I am not proficient with it. I am more biased towards viacad to do technical workshop type drawings. With all these programs, of course there is the learning time cost. I do presume that you are aware that there is the line drawing editor in ecabs? I personally...

Re: Lock Dado with Centreline idea

Hi Jeremy. There is a new angle to look at it from. I had not thought of applying it through the pattern manager. A similar situation is when the end thickness gets changed. We use the euro style front overlay hinges. We have had a couple of times when the the ends get changed from 5/8" (16mm) ...

Re: GLITCH in part editor for doors that are edged

Hi Nick I'm not sure whats going on there. I am putting the door into the doors, saved, slab file I just use the software, so I like you am just trying to reproduce your steps. I couldn't load your door as it was broken and I have attached the error messages. It still looks like a Constraints thing ...

Lock Dado with Centreline idea

There is a limit of 10 questions and we have 12 available joints, I left off the last available 2 KD / RTA fastener through and Lock dado through So I suppose list them down in the comments if you feel so inclined. Hi Guys We mainly use frame less cabinets with the Lock Dado setting and use a straig...

Re: Toe board and notch

I don't use face frames, so I am probably missing the point, but just a thought bump if you are stuck.
The setting in the attached picture seems to adjust that.
Same thickness as shelf material. :|

Re: Island pharmacy cabinet open on both front and back

Hi Sarah As in the replies above, there are probably as many ways to do this as there are ecab users. I made a little video which took about 30 minutes with interruptions and then I exceeded my free upload limit so I cut it by about 2 thirds and just put the last bit mainly in the part editor up. It...

Re: GLITCH in part editor for doors that are edged

Hi Nicholas. When I examined it in the part editor it seemed okay. When I zoom in I cant see that slit. (it does look like edging in your image) The door came into my ecabs unconstrained. Unless somebody else comes in with an answer, My two cents. I used to have a lot of problems with constraints. I...

Hi Nicholas.
Perhaps if you post the cabinet we can understand better.
I cant fully follow your process or method thinking.
What is the slit?

Re: Solid wood cabinetry made on a Model 42

Beautiful work Scott. Always nice to see other peoples work and methodology. I was also a bit inspired by Kens ideology. I didn't read the book but he did a video or something and he mentioned something like with CNC machining we have to rethink the way we do joinery. I have always aspired to do tha...
