Re: drilling holes, any ideas?

By construction holes, do you mean dowel construction? We use dowel construction on all of our cabinets. I place the holes in part editor, then go into the constraints manager and add the location dimensions. You can always print this screen (I take a screen capture into photoshop and print it from ...

Re: Machine Placement

As far as machine placement goes, you need to ensure that you have enough space around the machine to easilly load and unload materials/parts. I find that I walk around the machine all the time to get parts from the other side. Watch where you place the vacuum pumps. The exhaust should not be pointe...

corner cabinet stretcher issue

is there a way to set the machine to recognize the fact that a stretcher for a corner cabinet is actually a small part and should therefore get a multiple pass? When I make corner-front base corner cabinets, I use 4" wide top stretchers. The overall area covered by the part from extreme corner ...

constraints errasing themselves

I've had a few really large jobs to create over the last week, and have found that many of the cabinets I insert into the batch job will drop the constraints I have added at some point. I have had to go back and edit a few cabinets to different heights or depths, but get frustrated because often all...

Re: Upper angle end cab

Wow... I completely missed the second page to this post when I replied to it yesterday...

Pay no attention to it... I apparently was still on vacation (a mental one at least)

Re: Upper angle end cab

for that you can always create manual holes and constrain them on the back... might just want to do the same on the side as well to ensure that they will always line up. Takes a little longer on the initial set-up, but might be faster than trying to Macgyver another solution :)

Re: Constraint Manager Help/Bug

I have run into this problem before as well. It seems that if two constraint points exist in the exact same 2-dimensional location, the points are viewed as being exactly the same point. If I remember right, I got around this by offsetting one of the features by 1/16", or by 1mm, or some small ...

We ran into a similar incident a while ago... but it was because I had accidentally entered a wrong value in Panelmetrix and plunged my 2\" dia pocket cutter right through my 1-1/4\" mdf and through the spacer board and into the spoilboard... and it still tried to cut the pocket... so the ...

make sure that you have your tools set to interpolate, and that the interpolate diameter is sufficiently large enough to be able to run through the holes you are making. That's if it's the holes causing the problems and not the dadoes. Do you have your 3/8 bit set up as your pocketing tool in the se...

is this a dxf file that you are trying to cut? I'm pretty sure that when you set your layer names for different opperations in autocad, you need to specify not only the depth of the opperation, but the diameter of the tool that is doing it. If you set the wrong diameter of tool, it won't be able to ...

ah yes, I keep forgetting about the order of the tools. Don't have any time for the next week at least to play with drawers, but I will have to give that a shot when I get the chance.

Thanks again Forrest and Ryan

alright. Thanks guys. I will place an order for a couple of 1/4 compression bits. Forrest, how are you forcing the machine to pick your 3/8 bit for cutting the tails to thickness? My machine only will if it is one that has been sharpened a couple of times and has a smaller diameter, otherwise it alw...
